How we Met

It started with Lauren flipping a golf cart.

Cameron had recently moved back to Arizona and a groomsmen of his, Joe Fann, decided to visit for a golf trip. After making countless birdies, Joe, his childhood friend Lane Fuglevand, and Cam went to hang with Lane's fiancee at the time, Caitlin. Plot twist, Caitlin is a high school friend of Lauren's. Lauren spent the same day on the golf course, with Caitlin. After likely celebrating a birdie, she took a tight turn a little too quickly at the Biltmore, and flipped the golf cart onto her good friend and bridesmaid, Mariah Martin. This was clearly the signal Caitlin needed to realize Lauren would be a great match for Cam. Caitlin proceeded to ask Lauren if she would be open to a blind date. Later that night, as Cam, Joe, Lane, and Caitlin enjoyed a few too many local brews, Caitlin also asked Cam if he would also be open to a blind date. Before Cam could even say yes, Caitlin handed him a live FaceTime to Lauren, who answered with an espresso martini in hand. She obviously was swept off her feet, so much so that she immediately handed the phone to Mariah. After shockingly not hearing from Lauren for two weeks, Cam decided to ask Lane and Caitlin "about that Lauren girl" or "literally any other of your friends". Perseverance and romance.

Our Story

But it was love when Cameron sang at a karaoke bar.

After much convincing from Matron of Honor, Kiri Gonsalves, and Maid of Honor, Megan Mitchell, Lauren decided to go on a blind date with Cam AND not wear sweat pants. "It was freezing and rainy in March". Cam and Lauren spent the night at Goldwater Brewing in Old Town Scottsdale where several of you helped celebrate their future engagement. Cam immediately knew that she had a rare combination of intelligence, beauty, and love for beer, and was already sold on date number two before their second drink. Lauren however, was a bit more hesitant (or more realistically in denial) that the man she was on a date with could be the one. Dating couldn't be that easy, right? He was handsome, stylish, tan, tall, funny, had an incredible smile, discussed his mid-digital hair on their first date AND took just as many bathroom breaks. There was just no way it could be this good. Fast forward, our next several months were full of celebrations, birthdays, and getting to know the loved ones in each other’s lives. A continual theme in both of our lives is our shared passion for celebrating anything with our family and friends. Cam was struck by the special group of people that surrounded Lauren. Lauren couldn't believe she had met her match in someone with as many friends, and weddings, that she too would take part in. She not only loved spending more and more time with Cameron, but also his family and friends (even if they were Sun Devils). If you've made it this far it's probably no surprise to learn that Cam decided to tell Lauren he loved her first. She promptly pretended like she didn't hear him, and Cam spent the next two months nervous that he had ruined everything. Naturally, Lauren would wait until the moment was just right. Of course that moment was when Cam and his sister, Cady, awkwardly killed the vibe at an NYC karaoke bar by performing the 90s classic "No More I Love You's", a favorite of the Mother of the Groom, Cheryl, and her children. Lauren finally caved and knew she had found the one. Many weddings, golf courses, Niners games, and group celebrations later, Lauren and Cam found themselves to be inseparable and the perfect compliment to one another. We can't wait to celebrate with each and every one of you. You all know that our people mean the world to us and we look forward to bringing everyone together to share in that love. Love, Lauren and Cam
