Huntington is a GREAT place to go out to dinner or to bars if you are staying an extra night. 

For higher end dining, the following restaurants in downtown Huntington are wonderful:

For AMAZING NY chinese food:
-Albert's Chinese (trust me, you won't regret it)

For other great Huntington spots:

There are countless things to do on Long Island, including tours of many Gatsby era mansions. If you plan to go into Manhattan during your time in NY, you will need to be aware of what train line you are taking into the city. There has been extensive construction taking place on some of the main lines over the weekends, making it very difficult to navigate.
