Travel Note

Getting there & around

LaLa Park is about 45 minutes from downtown Austin, between the towns of San Marcos and Wimberley. Because parking at the venue is very limited, we will be helping to organize carpools & shuttles as much as we can from Austin/the airport to the venue on Thursday and Friday, and from nearby rentals to LaLa Park throughout the weekend. While we'll do our best to help arrange everyone's daily transportation between the venue and nearby accommodations, ride share services are also available in the area.

Travel Note

Camping at LaLa Park

We welcome friends who want the full festival experience to camp out on-site with us from Thursday to Sunday. You can bring your own gear, or rent anything you need to be delivered. There are many rental services available online and you can use whichever of them you like, but scroll down for two suggestions. We will have a large luxury restroom trailer. See the F.A.Q. for more information on the camping experience.

House Or Rental

Nearby Rentals

There are many rentals within fifteen minutes of LaLa Park (and even a few within walking distance!), ranging from romantic cottages to big ranch houses. The towns of Wimberley & San Marcos and the north side of Canyon Lake offer still more options just a few minutes further away. Because the area can book up quickly, we recommend making a reservation as soon as you find something you like. See the below AirBnb list for ideas.

Hotel

Nearby Hotels

San Marcos has quite a few hotels, including decently-rated budget options from around $80/night and lots of big name chains. Wimberley features more family-run BnBs and smaller boutique hotels. If enough people are interested, we can look into booking a hotel block, so please let us know if that's you! See the below Booking.com list for ideas.

Renting Camping Gear

With free shipping, the best deal for renting basic camping gear a-la-carte is from Arrive Outdoors. A tent, sleeping pads & bags for two people start at about $150 for the weekend, within many options and add-ons available. A five day rental triggers a discount and also gives us enough time to ensure everyone's gear arrives and is returned on time, so we recommend reserving your gear from April 19-24. It should be shipped to our house— 1001 Chimney Rock Dr., Austin TX 78758. We will arrange to transport all of the gear to the venue on Thursday, and to be shipped back at the end of the weekend.

Travel Note

Another Gear Rental Option

Austin-based company Off & Out offers a Camp Box Rental that is another good option for two people at $129 for the weekend (Thursday-Monday). It includes a tent, two sleeping bags, pads & liners, headlamps and a tent lamp. It also includes a camping stove set-up, which you won't need unless you plan to cook your own food. We are still looking into whether we would need Off & Out renters to add an extra day ($25) to ensure a smooth pickup, but we will take care of transporting the gear to and from the venue.
