The first time we locked eyes was when I had accepted a job as a substitute teacher in Mansfield ISD at the Phoenix Academy STARS program. We introduced ourselves, but we never thought we were soulmates. Actually, neither one of us were looking for anything serious. For months, we walked the same hallways, worked with the same students and staff, but we never knew that we would be getting married in the near future. After a couple months of just thinking of each other as "just another co-worker" we began to get closer and closer as friends. As time progressed, over a period of nine months to be exact, we had become best friends. Although we both liked and had deep feelings for one another, we never made any moves or did anything to reveal that to each other. During this time, my sister Jessica had passed away, I just needed someone to talk to that was not missing the same thing I was missing. I needed someone that genuinely listened without judgement and LaDarrius stepped right in. Then, it was the Friday before the last week of school, we were playing basketball together during the PE period, and LaDarrius asked me on a date to go bowling that Saturday. After our first date, sparks definitely began to fly. As time continued to pass, we fell in love and head over hills for each other. A year and four months later, we were blessed with the news that we were pregnant. After a long nine months of carrying our first bundle of joy, LaDarrius surprised me with a phenomenal proposal right after I had given birth to our baby girl LaZariah Nichole Hunt. Two years later, we then welcomed our second child together. A bouncing baby boy ZaDarrius Lamont Hunt. Over our time together we have been through so much. We have struggled together, and we have lived our best life together. Our relationship has had its challenges and our relationship has been nothing but heavenly bliss. Over all, we would not change any part of it for the world. We have remained strong through God's amazing grace and mercy. We realize that nothing in our lives will prosper without prayer. This is why we pray together, so that we can stay together and overcome any obstacles that will come our way.
On Friday, September 25, 2020, Dashawn and I were at Texas Health Huguley Hospital were we were preparing to give birth to our first child, a baby girl named LaZariah. Throughout my 21 hours and 31 minutes of labor, Dashawn often left the room to retrieve ice, that would never make it into the room lol. When it was time for me to give birth, I was exhausted and in so much pain, since I had absolutely no pain meds to subside the major pain I was about to endure. Dashawn was there through the entire process as he watched and recorded our beautiful baby girl enter the world. After being stitched and cleaned up, I remember my nurse saying, "Ms. Jenkins, since you were our only patient tonight, is it okay if a few nurses come in to see your baby?" I was in so much pain and just exhausted, I didn't care who came in the room. As I thought it would only be a few nurses, it seemed as though about 20 walked in and gathered around the room. My nurse then asked if I wanted to take a family photo. Again, I stated that I didn't too much care. As she brought my baby girl to me to hold, I didn't initially notice that she was wearing a different kind of onesie other than the typical hospital onesie they put on babies. "You really want to read this onesie", my nurse stated. "No, not really, you can just take the picture," I responded. She then went on to make me read the onesie. It read... "Mommy, you are so beautiful and the light of our lives, Will you Marry Daddy" After reading that as she held my baby on the left side of my bed, when I looked around the room for my man, there he was on the right of my bed on one knee. Without him having to utter a word, I excitedly said "Yes", and for the rest of the night we celebrated our new baby and our new journey of JENKINSbeingHUNTed. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2749276662028408&id=100008383021458&mibextid=Nif5oz
