FAQs

Question

Is the wedding inside or outside?

Answer

Both! The ceremony is an OUTDOOR ceremony with benches for seating. The reception space is half a mile from the ceremony location and is INDOORS with air conditioning. Although both locations are very close to each other, this is a distance that you will want to drive rather than walk. ** LADIES ** please be mindful when choosing your footwear. There is no pavement where the ceremony is taking place, so stiletto/skinny heels could be very difficult to walk in the grass.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We would love to see your little ones tearing up the dance floor, but our numbers are still limited unfortunately. If your online RSVP includes their names, please feel free to bring them along! If not, this is your excuse for a parent's night out!

Question

Let us know what we all really want to know... what's the bar situation?

Answer

We will be hosting beer and wine. There will also be complimentary coffee, tea, and water for non-alcoholic options. If you are wanting anything else to indulge in, our venue does have a full bar but you will need to pay as you go! Soda is also available at the bar for a charge. Payment methods accepted are cash AND cards, including the option to start a tab.

Question

Can I take my own photos/videos at the wedding?

Answer

Please refrain from use during the ceremony and please be respectful of our photographer during the ceremony and let him do his thing! We promise you two things: 1. We have hired the BEST OF THE BEST and have no doubt he will capture the day beautifully. 2. We promise to share the images with everyone after! Once we are at the reception, feel free to capture the night as you choose and post away! Please tag us and use our hashtag (below) when applicable! #ToHaveAndToVolz

Question

Is there a wedding hashtag?

Answer

#ToHaveAndToVolz Can't wait to see what you capture at the reception!

Question

When do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

The absolute cut off date is July 31st, 2021, but we would VERY MUCH appreciate you letting us know as soon as you do! All RSVPs will be done online. Please see our "RSVP" page on this website to do so. If you run into issues or have any questions on doing this, please contact either the bride or groom ASAP.

Question

What should I do if plans change after I've already submitted my RSVP?

Answer

Please let the bride or groom know ASAP! There are very specific deadlines with some of our vendors and accurate headcounts are crucial; however, we understand plans change last minute sometimes.

Question

Do you have a hotel block? When should I book my room if I plan to stay in town overnight?

Answer

We do not have specific hotel blocks, but have made a list of a few options for all budget levels, all within a short drive from our venue. Please see our "Travel" page on this wedding website for details. We HIGHLY encourage you to book your hotel room ASAP if you know you will be staying. The Cyclones first game of the season is the night prior to our wedding (Saturday, September 4th) and it is a home game in Ames. While we anticipate most fans will have left by Sunday, September 5th, we would rather you have your reservation in place to be on the safe side.

Question

What food will be served?

Answer

Heavy Appetizers will be served for our meal rather than a formal sit-down plated dinner. While there will be plenty to make this a full meal, please plan ahead if you feel this will not be adequate for you or your family. If you or anyone in your family has dietary restrictions, please contact us so we are able to work with our caterer ahead of time to make those options available to you.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

Please see our "Registry" page on this website.
