John and Laci met through mutual friends in 2016 and would later begin dating in the fall of 2017. Fast forward to December that year, Laci threw John a party for his 30th birthday where they decided to make it official... Facebook official... the following morning on December 3rd, 2017. The rest is history! We got engaged while on vacation with some of our best friends on Lake Travis in Austin, Texas on October 15, 2020. Originally this same vacation was supposed to take place in September but we had to reschedule, so John had to hide the ring an extra month in an old guitar case in the basement until he could pop the big question.

We bought our first home together in Bondurant, IA in the summer of 2019. Since then, we've just been living the good ol' life with our dog, Lily, here in Bondurant, and slowly working on various home renovation projects. We plan to continue doing work to the house and the property and really make it our own in the next couple years as newlyweds before determining where life might take us next!
