Our Story
Origin Story
Four score and 6.5 years ago.....
Katherine & Zach found each other the good old fashioned way by swiping right on the dating app, Bumble. Between the carefully curated pictures and witty banter, they were both convinced they were being catfished, but decided to play the odds and meet in person anyway. To add to the fairytale, they chose the most romantic date night of the week (Monday), the classiest backdrop (a bar), a few modest drinks (Bourbon & dirty martinis)....and the rest is history! I guess you could say, one of them did get "Kat"fished.... Fast forward through several years, a global pandemic, and countless adventures.... Katherine & Zach are still as inseparable as the day they met and thrilled to make this match official!
The Proposal
Life's got a nice 'ring' to it....
While they both knew very early on that this was a done deal, the question remained as to how/where/when to formally get engaged. After finding out their favorite band was touring through Asheville on August 13, 2022 (fun fact: Kat's lucky number is 8; Zach's is 13), Zach knew that would be The Day to pop the question. Unbeknownst to Katherine, he began planning months in advance, even getting Katherine's daughter, Avery, and both families in on the secret, which is an impressive feat given the curious [Type A] tendencies of the soon-to-be-bride. The morning of the 13th began in true Kat & Zach style, with coffee and a nature walk, only to end up as one of the most incredible moments of their lives. Rumor has it that the rest of the trip and concert were also incredible, but frankly everything after the resounding "YES!" response remains a blissful blur...
The Wedding
Planning a dream come true.....
Anyone who knows the bride & groom knows that words like "planning" and "organization" don't really exist in their vocabularies. That is, until it has to do with them becoming man & wife. Katherine & Zach knew they wanted a more intimate wedding, surrounded by nature, full of fun & celebration with Avery, family, and close friends. Their dream was to get married in the mountains right in the middle of Fall.....which they quickly learned is also a dream among thousands of prospective brides & grooms too. After weeks (okay months) of hopeless venue searches and "See you in 2025!" availabilities, they miraculously came across a brand new mountain venue called Serenity Ridge. From that point forward, the countdown began, the planning process unfolded, and here we are just a few short months away from the big day. This has truly become a dream come true and the future Mr. & Mrs. couldn't be more thrilled to share it with all of you!
