Short answer: Semi-formal/cocktail Long answer: We value fun over fanciness and know that when you look good, you feel good! A tux & ballgown are too formal, jeans & t-shirts are too casual, avoid wearing white....you get the gist....
Our celebration is an evening-to-night event, in the mountains, during the month of October, featuring a couple who barely understands what the different dress codes are anyway. There will be dinner & dancing, just as there will be a band & bonfire, so dress to impress & feel your best!
Yes! In addition to the ceremony & reception, we also invite all guests to attend our Welcome Party the night before to kick off the weekend!
ALL GUESTS are invited to attend our wedding Welcome Party the night before our wedding. The event will now take place on Friday, October 13th at Highlands Restaurant & Bar in Chimney Rock. Please refer to the Schedule section for additional information and be sure to RSVP if you are able to join us! The Highlands Kitchen + Bar 451 Main Street Chimney Rock, NC 28720 *Note: the restaurant recently relocated so be sure to use the Chimney Rock address!
In honor of Friday the 13th, we invite everyone to join in the festive color palette by wearing your favorite black cocktail/party attire!
Please inform us of any food allergies, dietary restrictions, etc. when completing your RSVP.
The average temperature in the area during the month of October is 50°F to 70°F. Since we will be in the mountains, you may want to bring a jacket or wrap to keep warm once the sun goes down.
Respectfully, we are only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If your invitation reads, “& Guest”, you are welcome to bring a plus one and include their name on your RSVP so we can address them properly. If your invitation does not include “& Guest”, please understand our wishes for you to attend on your own.
To allow all guests to relax & enjoy themselves, we have chosen to make our ceremony & reception adults only. We hope this notice is enough time for you to make other arrangements and take the night off to celebrate with us!
We are having an unplugged ceremony and kindly ask that everyone silence their cell phones & refrain from taking any pictures/videos during that time. We much prefer seeing your face vs. your phone and leaving the photography up to the professionals! (Don't worry, we promise to share said pictures with you!)
Despite the bride & groom both being social media ghosts, yes we do: #kzinlove (Like, "crazy in love", but with our initials...)
Since this is an out-of-town wedding for everyone, your presence is more than enough! Should you still wish to honor us with your generosity, we've opted for a "newlywed fund" in lieu of traditional gifts. For family & friends requesting additional gift ideas, please refer to the Registry section for more information.
We encourage guests to explore lodging options near the Mill Spring, Lake Lure, or Chimney Rock area. Please refer to the Accommodations section for recommendations. In addition to the options listed, we also recommend searching on rental sites such as AirBnB and VRBO. Please note that since our celebration is rather tucked away in nature, we strongly encourage guests to double-check the distance from your lodging choice to our wedding venue (444 Delind Drive, Mill Spring, NC) prior to booking.
While getting married during peak leaf season in the mountains is very special, we also know that means lodging & vacation rentals book up pretty quickly! Try to reserve your stay ASAP & feel free to ask the bride/groom for assistance if needed.
