The short answer: we're bad at geography, again. In the early stages of planning, we thought the Finger Lakes were a relatively short 4 hour drive for our family in Philadelphia and Boston making a good compromise for the two sides of our families. It wasn't until after hours of research that we realized it's a bit further than that. However, by then, we had fallen in love with the idea of a mini "destination wedding" spending the weekend with all the people we love and have helped us reach this milestone. It is also the first place Mike met Kristen's entire family during their annual Finger Lakes Wine Tour weekend. We love this area and know many of our friends and families have never experienced it. We are so excited to share some of our favorites! We know once you're there, you'll know the travel was worth it!
Have you met us? OF COURSE it is open bar! The open bar starts at 3:45-4:30 with pre-ceremony wine and beer SO TAKE THE EARLY SHUTTLE! Sip some local wine while enjoying the beautiful lake view before the ceremony begins. Cocktail hour is when liquor/signature drinks will begin at 5:00 until the end of the wedding at 10pm.
Semi-formal/cocktail attire. Weather pending, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors uncovered. The chairs for the ceremony are in the grass so consider that for ladies' shoe selection. The reception is outdoors under a tent and the dancing is in a covered, open air barn. Weather in June in the Finger Lakes is generally hot and sunny during the day (low 70s) and cooling down to 60s at night. We want you to be comfortable, but classy!
Unfortunately kids are not invited to the wedding. They are welcome to the other events scheduled throughout the weekend if you'd like to bring a babysitter for the wedding but still have them up for a mini-vacation. Or, you can take a parents weekend away in the beautiful Finger Lakes!
HECK YES! The party is not stopping at 10pm. We have SilverBird Woodfired rented out just for our guests starting immediately after the wedding until 1am. We will have pizza ordered and waiting for everyone, but drinks will be cash bar. There will be 90's music only allowed at the after party. EVERRRYYBOODDYYY, yeah yeah, ROCK YOUR BODY. The shuttle will drop us off at the afterparty from the venue and will be staying until midnight. If you plan to stay after midnight until our reservation ends at 1:00am (or if you plan on staying in an Airbnb), there will not be a shuttle available (2/3 of the hotels are walking distance).
Yes, there is a lot that holds about 30 cars. You are not permitted to park overnight, however. One recommendation is parking at the Hampton Inn (has the largest parking lot) and taking the shuttle over to the wedding.
Yes, there will be an option on the RSVP to disclose if you have a food allergy or dietary restriction. Feel free to text Kristen at 610-306-9687 to confirm or if you have any questions/updates after RSVP.
