The New Orleans Museum of Art is located inside of City Park. The Park is also home to the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden, the New Orleans Botanical Garden, Couturie Forest and Arboretum, the Louisiana Children’s Museum, and the largest grove of mature live oaks in the world, some of which are nearly 800 years old. The Park’s 1,300 acres make it one of the largest urban parks in the United States.
This is one of our favorite activities! Bring a small cooler of drinks to set on your paddleboard or kayak and take a self guided tour of the Bayou St. John neighborhood. Located near by is Finn McCool's Irish Pub and City Park (home to the New Orleans Museum of Art and Sculpture Garden).
Magazine Street is a 4 mile stretch packed with restaurants, shopping, and antiques. You can easily spend an entire afternoon eating, drinking, and shopping in one of the more historic neighborhoods in New Orleans outside of the French Quarter. This is where the locals go!
Jack Rose is a lively concept inside New Orleans’ historic Pontchartrain Hotel, alongside Hot Tin and Bayou Bar. Hot Tin is the premier rooftop cocktail lounge atop the Pontchartrain Hotel. The Bayou Bar located downstairs is known for local jazz each night Tuesday through Saturday.
