Is there a dress code?

We invite guests to wear either traditional western formal or Indian formal attire. Please see the event schedule for details on which events are outdoors and specifics about dress code.
Question
I have never been to a South Asian wedding. What should I wear?
Answer
South Asian weddings are very vibrant and colorful. We would love if everyone can join in the experience and wear traditional clothing! If you don’t own or haven’t worn Indian attire before, we recommend saris, lehengas, or anarkalis for women and kurta/pyjama (long Indian style tunic), paired with khaki pants for men. Indian attire is of course not required, but we think it would be really fun if everyone did dress up! Alternatively, cocktail attire or suits would be just fine. We would recommend renting or borrowing if you don't already have an Indian outfit, but you can also purchase outfits at Amazon, Lashkaraa.com, HouseofIndya.com, thesareeroom.com, kotasilk.com, perniaspopupshop.com, or KalkiFashion.com which have something for all budgets and styles! https://www.theknot.com/content/what-to-wear-indian-wedding

There are so many different types of south asian outfits. Which is what?

WOMEN: - Saree: A 2-piece outfit consisting of a top and a large piece of decorated fabric that looks like a scarf. The large piece of fabric will function as a skirt that also drapes over your body. The draping will cover your abdomen area and most of your back, depending on how it is draped. Most women in the family will wear Gujarati-style sarees for both events on May 8, 2023. - Lehenga (Chaniya Choli): A 3-piece outfit that consists of a top, a large circle skirt, and a scarf (aka dupatta). This style will show more of your abdomen and back than the saree. Most women will be wearing this style for the Garba night on May 7. - Kurta sets: This is a 2 or 3 piece outfit, depending on if the scarf/dupatta is included. The main outfit consists of a tea-length dress and either loose-fitting or tight-fitting pants. No abdomen or back is revealed in this outfit. With any outfit that includes the scarf, aka duputta, there are several ways to drape it to your liking! The draping style can really change up the look. The Gujarati way, for example, is very simple to achieve. Check out YouTube for tips and tricks. MEN: - Sherwani: This is a 2-piece set consisting of a colorful, form-fitting, and long jacket with either loose-fitting or tight-fitting matching pants. Shimon will be wearing this type of style for the wedding. - Kurta sets: A 2-piece set very similar to the female style of Kurtas. The set consists of a long tunic with matching loose-fitting or tight-fitting pants. This style is a staple in the male wardrobe and is also very comfortable.

Can I bring a plus one?
Answer
We have worked really hard to create an intimate celebration that includes all of our closest family members and friends, so we ask that you come solo unless your invitation is addressed to your family or to you and an additional guest. We will specify all guests on your invitation. Thanks for understanding!

Do you have any hotel recommendations?
Answer
We have hotel accommodations listed on the Travel section of this website. In addition, there are accommodations in Denton, TX and in surrounding areas to the venue. You are also welcome to book an airbnb.

Is there parking for all events at the venue?
Answer
Yes! There is free parking at the venue. Please let us know if you do not plan to rent a car so we can help make arrangements for your transport.

Where can I see the schedule?
Answer
Details about the schedule are found on the "Events" page. On the "RSVP" page, you may type in your name and RSVP to all of the events to which you are invited. Afterwards, you will be able to see the full schedule and have it emailed to you.

What if I have a food allergy?
Answer
We plan to order various dishes that are vegetarian and nut-free. Please note your dietary restrictions when you RSVP or contact us via text or email and let us know what food restrictions you have, to ensure we can make appropriate arrangements.
