Best Man
Michael and Henry met in college at NYU but their relationship didn't truly blossom until Mike was unwittingly hustled into becoming roommates with Henry in their ragtag, 2 bedroom-converted-into-4 bedroom, unfurnished, pet-friendly (not the furry friendly kind), unkempt upper east side travesty of an apartment. They would go on to many memorable Guss 4 phases of sobriety (or lack of), epic adventure hikes, turtle farm trips and long nights of karaoke. While Yoko would force them to both grow up and breakup the 4 years of room-man-ce, all in, Henry knows Mike always has his back and can count on him to bail the couple out of any scenario. (For example, becoming a pro proposal photo/videographer after others missed the proposal as they searched for McDonalds)
Calvin Tse
Best Man
Henry was lost and still trying to figure out the whole college thing as a sophomore when Calvin as a junior chanced upon their mutual interest in hockey and voluntarily decided to take Henry under his wing. He has been like a big brother and has been a key fulcrum helping Henry through College (or sometimes been more distracting in advanced accounting class) and his professional career. Whether it was Wicked Willies or Bar None, Calvin pushed Henry to stay out well too late into the night. Calvin is Henry's soundboard for any advice (and he needs a lot), typically over Sushi dinners.
Meredith Trubitt
Best Woman
Meredith and Kristian locked eyes in their freshmen year dorm the first week of college and never looked back. They helped each other survive their college years, while also sometimes torturing Meredith's boyfriend-now-husband, Phil, with whatever drink concoction they conjured up in the kitchen. Even though they haven't lived in the same city since 2011, through witty text exchanges, Facetime calls in the dark (which they recognize other people will think are weird), and countless flights, train rides and cross country car rides, they have kept their cosmic connection together. Meredith has always been Kristian's voice of reason and greatest reminder that some bonds know no distance.
David Ames
Officiant
David met Henry at Crossfit and their relationship has bloomed over many partner WODs where Henry hard-carries David. Upon learning of Henry's relationship with Kris, David was heartbroken, but decided to begin third-wheeling their conversations and handholding. Whether it was bringing soup over when Henry was sick or Facetiming Kris behind Henry's back in an attempt to undermine their relationship, David has always had the best interest at heart for both Kris and Henry. Although we are secretly worried he will attempt to replace his name with one of ours in the ceremony declarations, we couldn't think of anyone better to marry us off!
Maple
Ring Bearer
Maple aka Poochie aka Maypoo aka Troublemaker aka Maple Leaf aka Maple Syrup aka Mapes. Maple is a Welsh Pembroke Corgi. Over energetic, with too much pizzaz, and full of deviousness, there is no certainty he will walk down the aisle in a straight line. What can be counted on is that he will stop if you have food, will most likely jump up and down, and will most likely plop down and refuse to walk. But, we can also count on the fact that he will do all of that while looking super cute, his tongue sticking out and with a sly wink in his eye after he maybe pees on someone's chair (apologies in advance to that lucky person).
