Question

Why are you dragging me all the way to the Chesapeake Bay?

Answer

The fondest memories in Olivia's life were spent on the great Chesapeake Bay. Family reunions spent on the water, line fishing for crabs (Olivia's hidden talent), kayaking, ending the day with a cozy bonfire on a warm summers night while the gentle waves lap at the shoreline — these are all the memories Olivia has dreamed of sharing with her chosen family. Dylan has joined Olivia for his fair share of jaunts to the bay and fell in love with it too. If you've never spent time on the bay you're in for a treat. If you're a seasoned river rat, then we hope you enjoy this quiet rarely traveled slice of the bay.

Question

What should I know about traveling to the bay?

Answer

We want to spend the weekend taking in all that the bay has to offer. We encourage you to take advantage of hiking trails, swimming beaches, kayaking, boat launches and more. We will have plenty of bug spray and sunscreen to go around but best to pack the following in your bag: Sunscreen Bug spray Bathing suit Sun protective hat Light breezy clothing Sandals or flip flops Sweatshirt (nights get breezy) The Chesapeake Bay is haunted by ghastly creatures: Sea Nettles. Don't let this discourage you from taking a dip. In the event you get stung, scrape the area to clean off any remaining tentacles, splash some sea water on it and put some baking soda on the area for 15 minutes (we will provide baking soda). You'll be good as new in no time!** **Seriously, no need to pee on each other. These tiny monsters won't kill you.

Question

Dress code?

Answer

Wear what makes you feel like the best version of you. We are not ones for enforcing our loved ones to wear something fancy just for us. We recommend light clothing suitable for a beach wedding. Hawaiian shirt? Go for it. Linen suit? Slay. Maxi dress? We love it. Cute little sundress? Adorbs. Prom dress/tux? Decidedly not the vibe. We want you to be comfortable and feeling beautiful! And hey, if you have a dress that you're scared has too much white on it but you're dying to wear: go for it. Just don't wear a wedding dress. ;)

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We love your kiddos so much but this location is not kid friendly. We will be right on the water and we want to practice abundance of cautious. We are sorry if this causes any difficulties and hope you understand.

Question

What about my fur babbies? I mean this event is outside?

Answer

We love pets! If you want to bring them with you on this adventure feel free, we don't mind being around your little cutie pies in the days leading up to the wedding. HOWEVER, please don't bring them to the ceremony or the reception.

Question

Can I make it a day trip from Philly?

Answer

You can if you like to drive. Dylan and Olivia did it. It's about 3.5 hours one way. We will be accommodating anyone who can't stay the night with our schedule. We understand folks might not want to take the next day off from work. We just want to see you, and if you're willing to make the trip we will make it work!

Question

But guys, I'm a public transportation girlie ... how am I supposed to get to you?

Answer

In a world where America functioned properly, there would be public transportation to this location. Alas, we pail in comparison to European countries that have it together. But, what we do have is a community of friendly people with cars. Please contact Olivia or Dylan if you need a ride. We will try to coordinate a way for you to carpool.
