We’re getting married!

We met way back in March of 2018 at our local rock climbing gym. Olivia was there by herself when Matt came over to her and asked her some questions about the route she was climbing. Unbeknownst to her, Matt had already climbed the route and knew how to do it, he was just looking for an excuse to talk to her. Olivia explained it to him and then went over to climb something else and Matt decided to keep her company and they talked and climbed together for the remainder of the day. And as they say... the rest is history.

When Olivia and Matt met, Matt had rescued a sweet little pit bull named Mackie. In 2019 we welcome our two kittens, Jojo and Charlie. Sweet Mackie went to the Rainbow Bridge early in 2022, and is succeeded by Sadie, also a little pit bull, as we felt we could not have a home without a dog.

We love to hike and often take trips up to the Adirondacks or take day trips around the trails in Western New York. We planned to take a hike down at Zoar Valley at the end of June in 2021 as we had both never been there. It was looking to be the hottest day of the year so we went quite early. After getting lost on the trail, we ended up running into Olivia's brother, Macrae, on the trail! Olivia thought nothing of it because it seemed like something that would have happened. They were down in the gorge in the middle of the stream by this large cliff and Macrae offered to take their picture. Of course, this was a ruse and Macrae was able to record Matt proposing to Olivia. Matt did a great job as Olivia was the last one to know about the proposal.
