We love playing tourist even having grown up and living back here. There are fabulous breweries downtown, no shortage of Thai restaurants, cafes, and cute stores. Old Town Shops and Flagstaff General Store are Sarah's favorites.
This is a very fun theater! Darius most recently got us tickets to see Todd Snider here. It's also known for its Zombie Prom and Rocky Horror Picture show around Halloween.
Pluto was first sighted and discovered here! You can look through their telescopes and visit the educational exhibits. Don't forget to take the "Planet Walk."
A beautiful and expansive park, we enjoy walking Zeeba here with friends. There are great trails with good views of the San Francisco peaks.
This world class museum houses cultural, historic, and natural science exhibits. Growing up here, the life size dinosaur skeleton and interactive natural history sections were personal favorites for Sarah.
Take a drive up the mountain to peek the changing Aspen leaves! Flagstaff is known for its fall foliage and trails. Let us know if you need tips on drives and hiking spots.
Founded in 1899 as a Teacher's College, NAU is now a comprehensive university with a lovely campus. Our parents taught here when we were kids. Darius graduated with his undergraduate degree from here in 2014. Go Lumberjacks!
At Walnut Canyon you will find ancient cliff dwellings in a beautiful setting. The walking loop is just one mile, but does include some steep steps.
Wupatki National Monument is a fascinating collection of pueblo sites in various places on the landscape between the Painted Desert and the ponderosa highlands of Northern Arizona. Make sure you have enough time to stop at several of the pueblos.
Sunset Crater boasts a stark and beautiful volcanic landscape dotted with forest. There is an informative visitor's center and plenty of short trails. Some of these might still be closed due to the Tunnel Fire. Check to see what is open before you go.
