Galveston Island
Great day trip option to the gulf. It’s about an hour and a half drive to the island. There’s public beach all along the seawall along with tons of great food/drink options. Check out pleasure pier if you want to enjoy some rides, or stroll down The Historic Strand and grab some ice cream from La King’s Confectionary.
NASA Johnson Space Center
NASA is a great day trip option. It’s about an drive away. Check out the space museum, tour a space shuttle replica, visit mission control and see where astronauts train.
