Grace and Julia met on a summer abroad trip to Rome, Italy in the summer of 2013; just after their freshman year of college. The friendship developed and flourished into sisterhood through living together during other college summers, creating Gonzaga University's New Student Orientation, and their mutual love of cheese. They now both live in San Jose, CA just down the street from each other and loving every second of it!
Michael Etnyre
Best Man
Matt and Michael first met in 5th grade becoming Matt's first friend in his family move to Iowa. Growing up together they spent so much time hanging out in the parking lot across the street with their other friends that they proclaimed themselves "The Lot" boys. As they grew into their independence, they have found themselves in a multiple of shenanigans in Iowa and beyond.
Shannon McClain
Matron of Honor
Shannon and Julia met during New Student Orientation at Gonzaga University in Fall 2012. As baby freshman college students, they lived across the hall from each other and developed from hall mates, to classmates, to friends, to besties through their mutual love of science, teen dramas (One Tree Hill, Vampire Diaries, etc) and many late night heart to hearts over snacks.
Ryan "Sully" Sullivan
Groomsman
Sully and Matt became friends freshman year at Iowa State University while living on the same dorm floor, similarly to Julia and Shannon. They became quick friends as they prioritized the same college extracurriculars, which usually included evenings playing xbox followed by well intentioned libations. While both left Iowa after college, they went to opposite sides of the country; only adding to their list of reasons to have an airline miles credit card.
Maren Mitchell
Bridesmaid
Maren and Julia go way back, to the day Julia was born. Maren's father Gene and Julia's father Rick met at 13 years old and were best friends ever since! And in classic pseudo little sister fashion, Julia loved to copy whatever Maren did growing up, even now with getting engaged on the same day (1 year apart). Now that Julia is living in California again, Maren and Julia are able to see so much more of each other enjoying Giants games in SF, lots of yummy eats, and loving up on Maren and her husband Mike's new baby Levi.
Harlin Kissinger
Groomsman
Harlin is the middle child of the Kissinger brethren. Matt and Harlin share a lot in common including their careers in aerospace engineering, love of mountains, and affinity to growing facial hair. Matt often didn't share the video games with Harlin growing up, but now they enjoy them together. Fun fact, Harlin would prefer the life of a bird if only he knew how to become one.
Grisel Puig-Snider
Bridesmaid
Grisel is Julia's fabulous sister-in-law, and has been in Julia's life since she was 13 years old. Grisel is a light to everyone around her and this has been especially true in Julia's life. Grisel has only ever brought love and generosity to the Snider family, as well as a great sense of humor (which is necessary for the Snider family).
Nate Kissinger
Groomsman
Nate is Matt's youngest brother. He may be the youngest of the three brothers but nobody throws Nate shade these days. He is very outgoing and may be relied on for a good laugh and entertaining evening. On a side note, Nate is single and ready to mingle.
Zach Snider
Officiant
Fifteen years older than Julia, Zach has been one of the best big brothers anyone could ask for. Not only was he so loving and present for his little sister, he is an amazing son, father and man. When thinking about her wedding day, there was only one person that ever made sense to Julia to be the officiant. Fortunately, Matt wholeheartedly agreed. Julia and Matt are so honored to have Zach as the wedding day officiant.
