The two met when attending a gathering as both Cinco De Mayo and the Kentucky Derby ended up on the same day that year. Kinsey only knew three people in a room of fifty and thought it was time to start making friends in this new city. As fate would have it, Kinsey walked over to a friend to grab a drink where Danny was leaned up against the counter watching the race. He instantly caught her eye and later, he admitted the same with her. In the first hour of nonstop conversation, they realized that they had crossed one another’s paths at least three times before finally meeting here. To this day, Danny is convinced he saw/spoke to Kinsey first, but the jury is still out on that. After a month and a few dates later, Danny decided to put together a Sunday adventure for the two on Lake Travis. He packed up his new paddle board, a tube for her, and a cooler of Michelob Ultras. Shortly after the two hit the water, they realized that the wind would not let them return to their dock anytime soon. They both hid their panic from one another and were forced to embrace the moment. They ended up on a beach on the opposite side of the lake where Danny asked Kinsey to be his girlfriend. “If we can get through this together, I’m looking forward to what else we'll conquer in the future.” -Danny Three and a half years later, they bought a home during the pandemic for their first year living together. They even added a furry friend to their duo and named him Q (short for Quenton). For those reasons and many more, Danny started to put together a plan for the engagement. When January 12th rolled along, Kinsey had been busy starting a new job and was ready to celebrate her birthday on South Congress at a well-known Italian restaurant. As they walked up the street to Perla’s for appetizers and cocktails beforehand, Danny paused. Kinsey was confused in the moment, but followed his lead anyhow as she always does. They walked to the corner of the street where Danny said, “You know what today is right? The 12th. Now I know 12 is your lucky number, so will you make me the luckiest man alive today?”. There he was on one knee when she replied “Yes, of course!" Many happy tears followed along with a surprise photoshoot (including the photo shown above and below). As luck would have it, they were able to book a dream venue in a town they both equally love on a 12th to now make their union official. From the couple, "We cannot wait to celebrate our love with each and every one of y’all! Go Hoosiers!"
