Meet our family and friends who will be walking down the aisle with us!

Shannon Snyder

Matron of Honor

First she taught me the technical skills of being a speech-language pathologist , then she taught me how to follow Christ in all aspects of life. Starting off as my clinical supervisor during my clinical fellowship post-graduation, Shannon and I met in 2018. Shannon is someone who models empathy, grace, and love not only to our patients but to every human she meets. Shannon has always been such a selfless supporter and encouraging cheerleader of my love life, from the first few date experiences to helping Matt organize his proposal! She is always there to provide truth in love and point me back to the Gospel. She believes in loving unconditionally, forgiveness, finding the humor in the chaos of life, giving people the benefit of the doubt, and following Jesus.

Melanie Brost

Bridesmaid

Melanie is Kimberly's cousin in life, and sister in Christ. Melanie has always supported me through life's ups and downs. When I had lost much hope in a difficult season, I called Melanie and she prayed for me to discover Jesus and come to know His love. Several months later, our prayers were answered. I came to believe in the power, the beauty, and the truth of God’s love! Melanie and I still pray for one another and enjoy a homemade margarita or vegan donut together any chance we get! She's someone I can call on to talk to her about anything. Melanie is an incredible mom and wife to her kids and husband and does so much to provide for their needs. She is fun-loving and playful, but also empathetic and nurturing. Her heart for Jesus is displayed in all that she does. Melanie and I share a love of medicine and going to bed early.

Devan Carter

Bridesmaid

Devan and Kimberly met in graduate school. Devan kindly invited me to coffee one day after clinic so we could discuss the many questions I had about Christianity. Devan was patient and diligent in our conversations as we continued to spend time together in coffee shops and started going to the gym to exercise together twice a week. After a few weeks, Devan invited me to her church and I started attending church regularly again for the first time in roughly 15 years! I love seeing how much love and care Devan pours into her patients as an SLP. Devan is so warm and comforting, whether we're catching up in person or on the phone, something about her just feels like home. Devan and I not only share faith in Christ, but a love of plants, exercise, and "finding a good bargain".

Brittany Howell

Bridesmaid

Brittany and Kimberly met at Uptown Church in Charlotte through a small group. We connected almost instantly and began supporting each other in each of our own seasons of waiting. When I look at our memories together, I think back to Brittany baking me cookies to cheer me up, many fun shopping trips, and hours of endless conversation about anything and everything. Brittany has such a nurturing and humble soul. Over the last few years, she has consistently taken care of me physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Watching Brittany grow into a mother has been such an honor for me. Brittany speaks the best wisdom into nearly every situation and loves the Lord so beautifully. I'm grateful to call her my sister in Christ!

Julia Krönke

Bridesmaid

Kimberly has known Julia since she was 10 years old. Julia lived with us as an exchange student for a year in 2001 and I'm honored to say she has been my big sister ever since. As an older sister to me, Julia models a heart of generosity towards others, kindness, and selflessness. Together we enjoy swapping stories and laughing about all of life's crazy moments. Despite living in Germany, Julia has been there supporting me at every major moment in my life: sweet 16th birthday, high school graduation, 21st birthday, college graduation, etc. She has poured more love into me than I could ever return; I know that she will always be there for me, even with the ocean between us. I can't imagine getting married without Julia by my side and am humbled to have her as my bridesmaid.

Virginia McNamee

Bridesmaid

When I first moved back to Charlotte, Virginia immediately welcomed me into our church. She offered to do a Bible study on the book of John with me shortly after I confided in her that I was struggling to read and understand the Bible. Our Bible study on John was the first time I had read and studied scripture in my life. Virginia continued alongside my walk with the Lord in prayer and support and still remains a model of Christ’s love to me today. Virginia regularly opens up her home to me (and now Matt) for family dinners. Together we enjoy long talks and walking on the greenway when the weather is nice. She has taught me much about hospitality, selflessness, and motherhood. Virginia is always the first to ask me how she can be praying for me. She gives the best hugs that feel like coming home to a safe and loving place. l love seeing her be a mother to all her beautiful children and wife to her husband- she's the type of woman I aspire to be.

Emily Silva

Bridesmaid

Emily met Kimberly in graduate school and they've been close friends ever since. Though we live in different cities, Emily and I have managed to stay in close contact with weekly phone calls to catch up. Emily is someone who you can spill all your thoughts to and she will listen and empathize without an ounce of judgement. Emily has the most infectious laugh. Some of my favorite memories with Emily include vacationing in Mexico together, visiting each other for weekend trips, and recently, watching Emily get married to the love of her life, Louie. Emily has strengthened my faith in Jesus by showing me what it means to put others before oneself in Christ; her love for those in need, especially children, is inspiring and humbling.

Bethany Sweatt

Bridesmaid

Bethany is Matt's sister, and is actually a big reason why Matt and Kimberly even met! I instantly knew Matt would be an amazing person once I realized he was related to Bethany. I worked with Bethany at Camp Thunderbird back in 2011-12 and knew her as someone who was kind, patient, and loving. After meeting Matt, I got to know Bethany even further, and the more I learn about her, the more I grow to love her. Bethany is an incredible mom to her 2 sweet children. Bethany loves fiercely, lives fearlessly, and works hard to provide for her family in the name of Jesus. I can always count on her to make me laugh. I asked Bethany to be my bridesmaid because I knew she was someone I'd want praying for and supporting my marriage to Matt. I am so excited to be able to call her my sister in-law and look forward to learning from her for years to come.

Anthony Sweatt

Best Man

Anthony became my brother-in-law when he married my sister in 2012. Looking back, I also gained a brother. Since they started dating in 2008, Anthony and I have seen each other grow from immature boys to mature (at least somewhat mature) men. Those 14 plus years of bonding with Halo, Guitar Hero, sports, church events, plenty of family vacations, encouraging each other professionally, and a shared love of rock music, I truly consider Anthony both a brother and a best friend. I’ve had the great pleasure of watching Anthony mold into a loving and sacrificial husband to my sister and father to his two sons. Anthony is fun, goofy, selfless, caring, talented, hard-working, and dedicated. He’s a natural leader, a great father, and an inspiring man. The importance that he places in faith, his family, and his virtue is encouraging to me and many others. The life adventures that we’ve been through and the decades of life adventures to come, I am beyond blessed to have a brother-in-law, a brother, and a best friend like Anthony.

Nick Zerbst

Best Man

Nick is one of four of my groomsmen that I met freshman year of college at the Clemson House dorm (RIP). Nick's extremely outgoing personality was a lot for my introverted personality; but over the school year, his multiple invites to dinner, FCA, church, intramurals, workouts, and FIFA matches grew our relationship. By Senior year, we had spent countless hours enjoying the same variety of interests, sports, faith, and just life. Nick became the best friend I had ever had. What stood Nick apart is that he would ask me genuine, deep, questions about myself. He would then listen to what I had to say, and either empathize or sometimes provide me with truth. Nick met me where I was and encouraged me to open up and through this, it opened my heart to understand why God calls us to be in honest and vulnerable community with one another. I can’t think of a better example of brotherly love than this man. Through his genuine love for Christ and people, he altered the trajectory of my life who I am today. He opened my eyes to deeper introspection and vulnerability. I am positive that Kimberly would not have said “yes” to marrying me had Nick not been a part of my life. Though we currently live 200 miles apart, it was still a no-brainer to have Nick as a top guy in my wedding. I am blessed to have known Nick and thankful for our friendship. I also make sure to show him this by humbling him in FIFA.

Emory Bedenbaugh

Groomsman

Although not part of the original Clemson House group, Emory became a welcome addition to the group Junior year. After being introduced to Emory through Zach, talking about football and how bad Madden is every year, it was clear that he was going to become a great friend to me as well. Emory's positive attitude spreads to everyone he encounters and he can brighten up anybody's day. True to any of the Clemson House group, it’s impossible to feel down when Emory is around. From being The Tiger at Clemson, a Panther fan convert, and church league softball stud, it seems like there isn’t any hat the man can’t wear. Emory always keeps things interesting. I will never forget his iconic speech at Zach's wedding, our college bible studies, dating advice, and Emory’s weird queso habits. This young buck will keep the rest of us young for years to come.

Tyler McKenzie

Groomsman

Tyler started the Clemson House group freshman year of college when we happened to be eating lunch at the same time and I trashed talked him into a pickup game of football. Tyler teamed up with Nick, David, and Zach and completely dominated my roommates and me. I made sure I was on these guys intramural teams the rest of college. From eating lunch together Freshman year to being roommates for 3 years, Tyler and I have had plenty of good memories (when he wasn’t pulling all-nighters in the architecture studio or asleep on the couch). We’ve both admitted that we may not have been the best roommates to each other, but we did manage to combine to get four Clemson degrees and agree that those years together molded us to be better roommates to our future spouses (June 2023!). Tyler is one of the hardest working and dedicated people I’ve ever met, strongly devoted to his family, his teams, and his friends. Tyler may be one of the worst FIFA players I’ve ever met, but he is funny, light-hearted, goofy, smart, and I’m thankful for the friend that he is.

Casey McRorie

Groomsman

I have always appreciated the tradition where the bride’s brother is a groomsman. As Kimberly does not have a brother, I asked her who was the closest thing to a brother to her in her family. Casey was her response. She thought about all the times Casey was there for her in her life, through the good and bad, and how Casey is such a great listener and encourager. Casey loves to laugh and enjoy life. I’ve enjoyed hearing all the fun, crazy, and sometimes bizarre stories Kimberly and Casey have together. It turns out Casey (and Sally) were the first members of Kimberly’s family I met right after meeting her parents at a Clemson tailgate. I quickly learned that Casey served in the Marines and could easily authenticate that Casey was someone who genuinely served and cared for others. The more I got to know him, the more I could see just how much he loves his family. Casey is also a very down-to-earth, kind, humble person; despite any adversity he faces, you will never hear Casey complain. Since Casey and Sally live not too far from Kimberly and I in Charlotte, I am looking forward to getting to know Casey better and all the great times we have in mind for the future.

Zach Posey

Groomsman

Dr. Zach Posey is another one of “Clemson House Five.” Zach and I joined up for years of intramurals, Xbox, bible studies, and hang outs. Zach and I were both in Clemson the entire summer before Senior year. One notable memory from that summer is when we were running across campus to get to Zach’s car during a lightning storm. I had decided I shouldn’t run on the shrubbery and slipped onto the concrete. Now I have three scars to remember Zach by forever. In 2021, I found out Zach and Austyn moved across the street from me in Charlotte. After that, they were incredibly good friends to me and made third-wheeling incredibly fun. Our weekly meetups where we played games, explored Charlotte, and had great conversation made post-COVID life extra memorable. They gave me lots of relationship advice and helped me not to scare Kimberly away, for which I am grateful. Zach has a huge heart and one of those infectious laughs. Zach is someone that can always be relied on to be there when you need him. He’s incredibly sacrificial and loves deeply, which is evident in his marriage and role as a father, and I’m looking forward to many great double dates in the future.

David Stevenson

Groomsman

David is another one of the "Clemson House Five". For about 7 years, the only speed dial I had on my phone was David. Which tells you David is about as solid a friend as one could ask for. The shirt off his back kind of guy. David is loyal, dependable, and a fellow licensed engineer. For as long as I remember, David was always bragging about how good his sister was at volleyball, but it wasn’t that it was his sister, it’s that he was just so proud of her. In college and still today, he would constantly travel in order to support her college and professional career. I always thought his love for his family and friends demonstrated his selfless spirit. David’s faith is evident in his life, by his servant’s heart, the joyful light that he has, the love for his family and his friends, and the way he puts others before himself. He is a highly valued friend of mine, and I look forward to witnessing how the Lord blesses him in his life.

Kyle Pohle

Groomsman

My grad school “spouse.” Considering we were together about 40 hours a week, we spent more time together more during grad school than he and his now-wife, Darby, could at the time. Kyle and I made a great team, we helped balance each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Kyle is the only reason I was able to graduate while remaining sane. Although the bickering sometimes got bad when stress levels peaked, I could not have wished for a better grad school buddy. Every time I drive to Clemson and pass by Pendleton Bojangles, I nostalgically think back to the Fridays when Kyle and I routinely drove 15 minutes to Bojangles, since it was one of only three lunch options near the lab. Kyle is insanely smart, hardworking, a sneaky good athlete, and a ton of fun to just hang out with. One of my favorite memories with Kyle is during intramural football, I threw up a hail mary pass and Kyle got just behind the leaping defender for a long touchdown. Kyle is one of the nicest and most respectable people I know. I admire him because he stands up for everything he believes in, and he is a wonderful example of being a light to this world. I know Kyle has an incredibly bright future ahead of him, and I am certain he will be an amazing father (starting March 2023!).
