No. :) There are very very few things that we want/need right now. We also have limited (no) storage in our current apartment. If you are willing, we would be so grateful if you would be willing to contribute to our honeymoon fund! We will have a box set up at the wedding for funds to go into. Thank you!
Short Answer: No! Long Answer: No! Our reasons are that we have multiple friends/family with allergies or significant discomfort around dogs. To keep everyone healthy and comfortable, no dogs. No exceptions.
To be on the safe side, aim to be arriving at the park by 1:00 pm. This will allow for any pesky summer traffic and whatever line you may encounter when arriving at the park.
If they are on your invitation then definitely!
When you put, "Park Access Road Casco, Maine," into Google Maps, it will essentially take you to the very entrance of Sebago Lake State Park, Day Use Area. We've been told that we won't be able to put up signage within the park so try to follow these directions: -When you turn on Park Access Road, you'll drive about 1,000 feet to the main gate where you will give the attendant your voucher. -After passing through the gate, you will drive approximately 1 mile until you come to a fork in the road. Stay to the right. You'll know you're going the right way because you will pass the boat launch on your right. -After the boat launch, you will drive past a small road on your right with a sign for group camping. -The NEXT small first road on your right (just a short way up the road) will have a sign for the group picnic area. Turn right here! It's just a few hundred feet down to the parking lot. From here, once you park, you should definitely be able to see decorations for our wedding!
There is a parking lot specifically for the Pine Grove Group Picnic Area! The state park prohibits signage but we're going to get creative to see how we can make sure people make it to the right spot as the Big Day gets closer. :) -But what if, for some CRAZY unforeseeable reason, the picnic area parking lot has filled up? Drive back down to exit the parking lot and turn right. Almost immediately there will be a fork in the road, stay to the right and you will find yourself in the main parking lot for the day use area. Our recommendation is, if possible, stay to the right side of the parking lot as that side is closer to the picnic area. -Once parked, there are paths from that parking lot that lead over to the picnic area. The easiest thing to look for is several bathrooms. Just walk past those bathrooms and you’ll wind up back where our wedding is!
We can't personally recommend any local hotels. There aren't a ton in the Sebago/Casco/Naples area (we believe there are several "seasonal" ones that open up for the summer). Otherwise, there's one hotel, the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham fifteen minutes away in Windham. After that, we'd recommend either camping at the state park or checking for a hotel in the Greater Portland Area. :) Beyond hotels, make sure to check out Airbnb and VRBO for camp/house rentals on or near the area.
Woohoo! Sebago Lake State Park camping fills up quickly but as of 3/31/24, there are still some spots left!! Reserve here: https://cg-public-prod.web.maine.gov/public/index
