We met on BUMBLE a couple of weeks before the pandemic shutdown in 2020! Bumble is an online dating app where the woman has to make the first move and message the guy first. After a few weeks of messaging back and forth on the app and via text message, we decided to go for a socially distanced walk on the Bristol Bike Path here in Rhode Island. Jonny pulled up in a car that looked like a Batmobile (which was a telling sign of his love for Marvel and DC). After some brief small-talk, we started on our walk down the path. About 100 yards into the walk, Jonny asked "Should we turn back?" Obviously Kia's immediate thought was this is a sign that he is not interested, but later found out that HE actually thought Kia wasn't interested and was trying to put her out of her misery. It's something we still laugh about today. Needless to say, we continued on the walk and enjoyed the conversation with one another. As the pandemic worsened, and more places began to shutdown we only had two places to hang out: his house or her house. There was no honeymoon stage for us because we were never able to "wine and dine" each other or get "dolled up" like most couples do. We were forced to see each other in our rawest form and make our own fun when there was nothing to do in the outside world. We found comfort in our in-depth conversations, shared morals and values, love for music, IPAs, and travel. We are so happy our "walk" continues...
