This is Jen's favorite place to get brunch in Pittsburgh. It is cash only, but there is an ATM right down the street if you need to get some cash. I always get the same order: mixed grill with spicy sausage, eggs over easy, raisin toast, and decaf coffee. Yum!
This is Kent's go-to place for pastries. We recommend the brioche bostock, gourmandise, and quiches. Make sure you ask for the quiche to be warmed up! This is about a 16 minute walk from our wedding venue.
Kent treated me to a really nice birthday dinner at this restaurant early in our relationship and brought me there again the day we got engaged. It is a more upscale restaurant with great food.
The incline was built in 1870 to transport workers up and down "Coal Hill", which is now known as Mount Washington. Riding the incline is definitely a recommended attraction in Pittsburgh and the views of the city from Mount Washington are beautiful. There are restaurants, ice cream, and bars at the top. Jen actually lived up here when she graduated from Duquesne University. This is less than a 5 minute walk from our wedding venue.
Our wedding venue is located in Station Square along with the hotel, Sheraton Station Square. There are bars and restaurants along the strip that runs along the Monongahela River. Neither of us go to the strip district all that often, but one stand out is the brunch at the Grand Concourse. It is a little pricey, but delicious!
The Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team are in town August 21-27 with daily games.
This classic Pittsburgh restaurant serves sandwiches with fries and house-made cole slaw. It is an 18 minute walk from the wedding venue.
