A Town for All Seasons
You know what's great about a small-town brewery? Everything is small-batch and it's always fresh!
The quaint local brewery, chill vibes with a good view. Just off Main Street.
If Paul's bakery is our favorite go-to for carbs then this is the meat equivalent! Grab a Landjaeger if you just need a snack while walking around town, or grab some smokies for the campfire later. Vanessa would surely grab a pepstick every time we walked by if I didn't restrain her.
We always bring a few loaves of cinnamon bread and raisin bread home with us. Ken has been enjoying the chocolate long john from here since he was a child.
We visit Mas every time we are in Smithers. The Tuna Bits are one of our favs, and be sure to try the Whitney Roll and Wren Roll.
Craving Mexican food? Here's the spot!
We absolutely love this store and the staff. All kinds of neat stuff and they carry a few local wares.
Fishing? Fishing! Gear and tackle, plus you can grab your license here.
Don't want to bring your bike? Rent one! And you can ask the locals about which trails you might want to check out (or avoid)!
We always seem to find something here, great brands and selection. If you forgot something for your outdoor adventures you might find it here.
Ken once worked here as a groundskeeper, though he's probably better at swinging an axe than a golf club. It's a beautiful 18 hole golf course!
A short drive and an easy hike will reward you with some spectacular views of these twin waterfalls cascading down from Lake Kathlyn Glacier. And if you're nimble you can make your way right to the base of the waterfall and cool off on a hot day!
A short drive and certainly worth checking out. Home to the Wet'suwet'en First Nation people, this choke-point of the Bulkley River makes for ideal fishing and photography. View it from the highway pullout or better yet, park below or across the wooden bridge to find a trail down to the water to better appreciate the might of this white-water canyon!
