Kelsie & Bright were casual acquaintances until their congregations merged in the Fall of 2016. During their 6-year friendship, they enjoyed the challenge of biking through NYC, learning how to snowboard & the thrill of white-water rafting. They also learned of each other's competitive nature while playing chess, cards, and Monopoly. As their friendship developed, they slowly recognized shared values, similarities in how they solved problems & qualities they admired about each other. This naturally drew them closer. It was the little, but meaningful things, that endeared them to one another. So it was no surprise when their friendship blossomed into something more…

If you know anything about Kelsie, you know that she LOVES a good cup of coffee and that she is most happy near the water. So from time to time, Bright would get her a cup of coffee just how she likes it. Occasionally, he would suggest a spontaneous walk along the Hudson or ice cream by the pier. Kelsie always looked forward to spending time with Bright. Bright’s naturally thoughtful & attentive nature made a strong impression on Kelsie.

If you've spent any time around Bright you know that he’s not a big talker. However, if you KNOW Bright, you may have learned that he has many unique, unorthodox opinions. As he became more comfortable with Kelsie he would share these unorthodox opinions with her. He appreciated that Kelsie not only entertained his ideas, but she sincerely engaged with them. Their conversations revealed values and qualities he admired. Kelsie's open-mindedness allowed Bright to open his heart to her.

On a chilly December night on a rooftop in the heart of New York City, Kelsie and Bright were simply spending quality time with family… or so Kelsie thought. Upon entering a heated igloo, she was greeted by radiant letters spelling out M A R R Y M E. In a private moment, Bright got down on one knee & asked Kelsie to marry him. Naturally, she said YES! They celebrated this moment with family & friends, all of whom could feel the warmth of their love!

Throughout their courtship, Kelsie & Bright have recognized the importance of putting Jehovah first and spending quality time together. Whether it’s their family worship projects, finishing jigsaw puzzles, kayaking or hiking through Jehovah's creation – they look forward to a lifetime of problem-solving, and outdoor activities, all while serving Jehovah together.
