Enjoy the quaint shops, galleries, and restaurants in Edgartown. Some of our favorite shops: Portobello Road, Edgartown Books, North Water Gallery, and the flagship Vineyard Vines store. We recommend wrapping up with a walk along North Water Street - lined with charming, historic whaling captains' homes from the 1600s and 1700s - to the Harbor View Hotel (about an eight minute walk), where you can grab a drink at Bettini. Take a stroll on the beach and see the famous Edgartown Lighthouse. Originally built in 1828, the current Edgartown Lighthouse stands on shore, accessible by a walking path in front of the Harbor View Hotel on North Water Street.
Walk the shops on Circuit Ave. Ride on 'America's Oldest Carousel'. Enjoy pizza and local beer at Offshore Ale. Walk through the Campgrounds to see the decorative 'Gingerbread Houses'. Have a mudslide on the harbor at Nancy's, Lobsterville, or Sand Bar. If you want to be a local, stop by Coop de Ville, or for late night shenanigans head to the Ritz (no, not that Ritz)
Pack the beach chairs and towels. Large sandy beach with plenty of parking and biplanes fly overhead. Free & open to the public. The VTA buses can also take you here via route #8

A fish market and a takeout operation in one. We love to grab a picnic table out front for takeout on a laid back night, or hit the Net Result right when we get off the ferry and are starving for some chowder. The Net Result is BYO, so grab a bottle of wine and a picnic table out front, and enjoy some local seafood. Can't miss: New England clam chowder, whole steamed lobster, peel & eat shrimp, fried clams, swordfish sandwich, sushi, key lime pie by the slice. **No Reservations** Order at the counter.
A jaw dropping sunset and romantic dinner. With a gorgeous view right at the foot of the Aquinnah lighthouse, you'll want to arrive early for your reservation and enjoy a glass of champagne at the backyard bar as the sun sets. **Reservations Required**
Jump off the famous Jaws Bridge. Jaws was filmed on Martha’s Vineyard in 1974. The most famous landmark from the film is the Jaws bridge, the bridge that was the home of the iconic shark attack scene in the movie. Step up to the railing and jump down to the cool ocean water below, located on Beach Road near the Oak Bluffs/Edgartown line. It’s a rite of passage on Martha’s Vineyard and a must-do if you’re up for it! Be safe!
