WHERE IS KIAWAH ISLAND?

Answer

Kiawah is a private island located in the heart of the low country about 45 min south of Charleston, South Carolina. The island is known for its pristine beaches, championship golf courses, beautiful natural scenery, and long list of recreation, restaurants, and shops!

WHERE SHOULD I STAY?

Answer

We recommend staying on island in one of the many villas, condos, homes available through KIGR or third party rental companies! The Sanctuary also offers gorgeous ocean front hotel rooms. We also recommend The Andell Inn by Marriott, which is located just outside the entrance to Kiawah Island. We have a dedicated block set aside for guests at The Charleston Marriott, if you prefer to stay in Charleston. There are also numerous hotel options in Downtown Charleston and is just a 45 min drive to Kiawah. Please reference our travel + accommodation page for more details!

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY STAY?

Answer

As soon as possible! Kiawah is a very popular summertime destination and accommodations fill up quickly. We do not have a dedicated room block, so booking will be on a first come first serve basis. Please plan to make your arrangements as early as you can to ensure availability.

HOW DO I GET ONTO THE ISLAND?

Answer

Note that Kiawah is a private community and there are two security gates. Through your lodging arrangements you should be provided with details of obtaining a gate pass. You may also tell them you're here for the Clemens-Kincheloe wedding if you are staying off property to receive your gate pass.

WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED?

Answer

Transportation will be provided for guests staying on island to and from our wedding ceremony & reception at The Ocean Course! Stay tuned for more details on pick-up locations and timing. If you are staying at a KIGR property, there is a complimentary shuttle available to and from resort locations around the island.

IS THERE RIDESHARE ON KIAWAH?

Answer

Uber/Lyft are only available from the airport but do not operate in and around Kiawah for pick ups. and aren't available on the island. We highly recommend renting a car if you are flying into our wedding weekend so that you can easily explore our favorite place!

WHAT IS THE ATTIRE FOR THE WEEKEND?

Answer

Wedding Ceremony & Reception - Black Tie Optional. Our wedding ceremony will be on the lawn at The Ocean Course, which sits alongside the Atlantic Ocean and can be windy. We recommend wearing shoes you can easily walk on grass in and welcome you to bring a shawl in case it is windy. Welcome Reception - Resort Cocktail Brunch - Resort Casual

ARE CHILDREN INVITED?

Answer

We love all the sweet children in our lives, but our wedding reception is an adults only event. If you need childcare services, we recommend Perfectly Poppins ( 843-898-0707) or Annie's Nannies (843-654-4266) for on island provider.
