It all started when Kelly walked into the Aon Center in Chicago to start her first day of work and was assigned to the same engagement team as Sam. We quickly became good friends as we shared our love for food, travel, sports, and friends and family. As we got to know each other more, our water breaks grew longer, excuses for work happy hours popped up more frequently, and Sam's stares at Kelly in the audit room became suspicious. When we finally told our coworkers we were dating, the common response was "well obviously!". Together, we enjoyed lots of fun times in Chicago - going to sporting events, trying new restaurants, frequenting our favorite bars, and exploring the city until it was time for a new adventure. We moved to Charlotte in 2022 and have loved exploring this city and new part of the country together. And we are especially excited to welcome you to the city we have come to call home!

On a random Tuesday in December, Kelly was working at the office while Sam was "working from home". Little did she know, Sam spent all day prepping their townhome for the big ask. He bought hundreds of flower bouquets (thanks Trader Joes!), lit dozens of candles, and prepped one of their favorite meals. Kelly called Sam leaving the office saying she was on her way home. Little did she know, that call pushed Sam into a 15 minute pacing session as he anxiously awaited Kelly to walk in their townhome to flowers and candles lining the stairs. She walked up and found him in the kitchen with hundreds of flowers around the room. Sam got on a knee and the rest is history!!
