King Street in Old Town Alexandria is a walkable mile of centuries-old architecture and the heart of Old Town’s 200+ independently owned restaurants and boutiques. This is our favorite area in Alexandria and we highly recommend spending some time here over the weekend (like at our Welcome Event)! You can't go wrong just wandering the streets and admiring the quaint houses and numerous boutiques and restaurants.
If you're looking to continue your night after our welcome event, there are great bars right around the corner from Vola's, only a couple hundred steps away! Some places we'd recommend checking out are - Daniel O'Connell's Irish Restaurant & Bar (112 King St, Alexandria, VA) Fish Market (105 King St, Alexandria, VA) Union Street Public House (121 S Union St, Alexandria, VA) Chadwicks (203 Strand St, Alexandria, VA)
Located only a 2 minute walk from the Hilton and a 5 minute walk from the Holiday Inn, Ballston Quarter is a destination where the area’s best chefs, entertainment options, events, shopping, and more come together in the heart of Arlington, VA. With unique indoor and outdoor spaces, Ballston Quarter offers one-of-a-kind experiences for everyone, whether you’re exploring Quarter Market eateries, getting a haircut, or shopping at the premier Ballston mall.
Just north of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. you’ll find Gravelly Point Park. Its unique location just a few hundred feet from the north end of Reagan's runway makes it one of the best spots in the United States for airplane-spotting. Bring a picnic lunch, frisbee or just yourself, and explore beautiful scenic views. There is an on-site parking lot for convenience.
One of our all-time favorite restaurants in the heart of Old Town! If you're looking for a place to eat or drink over the weekend, you can't go wrong here. Cavan's go-to order is the cheesesteak egg-role appetizer - YUM and Laura always insists on sitting in their outside deck area, she highly recommends!
This is a great art exhibit at the bottom of King Street in Old Town. It's free to walk through and enjoy!
