Keenan and Yunyun met on the first day of class during their freshman spring semester at Cornell. They both sat in the very front row of the Klarman Hall auditorium, and briefly exchanged names. It wasn't until a few weeks later that they saw each other again in the breakfast line at the Temple of Zeus cafe, right outside where the class was held. Yunyun was amused that Keenan consistently started his day with a cup of English Breakfast tea while reading the morning news. Keenan started going to Zeus earlier to try and catch Yunyun before class. They shared many mornings drinking tea together and read the entire canon of modern political theorists before the semester ended. Yunyun was mildly annoyed Keenan kept on trying to pick apart her arguments on everything from the merits of the Euro to campus social life, and Keenan just didn't want the conversation to end. They decided they should take another class together the next semester. They went back and forth on whether Keenan's English Breakfast was superior to Yunyun's Earl Grey. Yunyun won the argument by giving Keenan a tin of her favorite tea. Keenan carried around the large canister in his backpack for the rest of the year because it reminded him of her. Their last big debate was about who should ask who out. Keenan had been waiting two years for the right moment. Yunyun, being the pragmatist, noticed his nervousness and offered to do it instead. Keenan insisted on the importance of having the perfect place, and time, and activity for their first date, which he was diligently planning! After two and a half years of long talks in nearly every single study space on campus, they found they still had more to say on the first date. After they ran through three courses worth of conversation, they ordered dessert and tea because neither wanted the night to end. Keenan chose Earl Grey, and the rest was history.
