FAQs

If you have other questions about our wedding weekend, please feel free to contact Kaylie by text at 724-953-5028 or by email at kayliespringer@gmail.com.
Question

...The wedding is all the way in California?!

Answer

It's far, we know, but we promise it's beautiful! San Diego is a trek for many of our guests, which is why we want to say at the outset that no one should feel pressured to fly across the country for our wedding. We completely understand there's only so much PTO one can take each year! If you can't make it for any reason, we look forward to raising a glass with you from afar and celebrating next time we're together.

Question

When will I receive my formal invitation in the mail?

Answer

To save paper and because we are crazy millennials (!), we opted to send only one save-the-date/invite combo. In other words, no formal invitation will be mailed to our guests. Please check back here for updates and feel free to RSVP online any time on or before January 16!

Question

When do I need to RSVP?

Answer

Please let us know by January 16.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Click on the "RSVP" tab. Enter your first and last name, or the first and last name of your spouse. You do not need to include a middle initial. Next, you will see your name along with the names of those in your party. You will be able to RSVP for both you and the rest of your party. Please make sure to include information about any food allergies or dietary restrictions so we can plan with our caterer accordingly. If you have any questions, please reach out to Kaylie at kayliespringer@gmail.com or by text at 724-953-5028.

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

If I (Kaylie) had a dollar for every time I frantically ran around our house, the week of a wedding, trying to decide what to wear and asking Bradley his opinion 500 times, I could retire tomorrow. I don't want our guests to feel that way, so please reach out any time with questions. We also don't want any of our guests to feel the need to buy a new outfit for our wedding. The official dress code is semi-formal (with a California twist). (There I go using a qualifier like "California twist" that has absolutely no meaning and was entirely made up by me 5 seconds ago.) For men, it's easy: suit and tie, please! For women, think something less dressy than formal/black tie, but ideally something slightly dressier than cocktail. Long dresses are great, but if you don't own a longer dress, midi or cocktail length is great, too. I say California twist because we'll be by the water with the surfers, and San Diego is a very laid back city. Color and prints are therefore totally appropriate in this setting if that's your thing. If you prefer darker colors or solids, that's great, too. I'm including below some Pinterest photos that I hope are helpful! In the end, we just want to celebrate with our people and will be thrilled either way no matter what you wear! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/405957353926419984/ https://www.pinterest.com/pin/1012254453721134025/ https://www.pinterest.com/pin/549650329539339424/ https://www.pinterest.com/pin/254171972715045506/ https://www.pinterest.com/pin/359654720255396500/ https://www.pinterest.com/pin/68744926646/

Question

What is the weather like in March?

Answer

San Diego is (usually!) beautiful in March, with average daily highs of 66 and lows of 54. The weather right next to the ocean, however, is notoriously fickle, with some unpredictable temperature swings. Weather permitting, our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will take place next to the beach, which tends to be a little chillier than the rest of San Diego. East Coast friends and family: 50s/low 60s are colder than you think! We recommend coming prepared with a jacket, shawl, or similarly cozy item. We'll have a few heaters on hand during cocktail hour and dinner.

Question

Is the wedding inside or outside?

Answer

We are getting married at an indoor/outdoor venue next to the ocean. Weather permitting, our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner will take place outside. We'll move inside to hit the dance floor, although guests will be free to hang out outside if they prefer. The welcome party is similarly at a brewery that's almost entirely outdoors, near the water in Point Loma. Please dress warmly or bring a warm layer!

Question

How do I get to the ceremony and reception?

Answer

While catching an Uber is always an option, we will provide transportation to and from downtown La Jolla to Scripps Seaside Forum. More info on this to come as the wedding gets closer. Transportation will also be provided following the wedding reception back to La Jolla.

Question

Can I drive to the welcome party, ceremony, or reception?

Answer

First of all: please do not drink and drive! If you do plan to drive to the events, please see more information below. Welcome Party: There is paid parking in a lot abutting the brewery, but it tends to fill up quickly on the weekends. There are also a few paid lots elsewhere in the area which are relatively walkable. Ceremony and Reception (Scripps Seaside Forum): Parking is extremely limited at the venue, and we highly encourage even our non-drinking guests to Uber or take the provided transportation from downtown La Jolla. After Party: There is street parking around the bar which should be available that evening.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

For most of our guests, we do not think renting a car is necessary. We anticipate most of our guests will fly into San Diego International Airport and Uber/Lyft to their hotel, Airbnb, VRBO, etc. We are recommending guests stay in or around La Jolla, a cute neighborhood in San Diego that is very walkable to bars, restaurants, and the ocean. We will provide transportation from La Jolla to the wedding venue on Saturday. If you want to explore more of the city during the weekend, Ubers and Lyfts are available. Note for our East Coast friends and family: Ubers/Lyfts take a bit longer to arrive in San Diego than they do in other cities. Plan ahead and leave plenty of time! If you need an Uber/Lyft to the airport for an early morning flight, we recommend booking the Uber/Lyft the night before. If you're staying in San Diego beyond the weekend itself, it might be worth renting a car. Let us know if you have any questions about whether a car is necessary for you!

Question

What is the dress code for the welcome party?

Answer

Check back soon, more updates to come!

Question

How do I get to the welcome party?

Answer

While catching an Uber is always an option, we will provide transportation to and from downtown La Jolla to Eppig. More info on this to come as the wedding gets closer. Transportation will also be provided following the welcome party back to La Jolla.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding weekend is an adult-only occasion. We hope you understand!
