On May 15, 2018, Kayleigh made a trip to the Brooklyn College campus to attend an event that her best friend was part of and to have a meeting. Before leaving the campus that day, she visited her friend Avery at the Ingersoll building. Little did she know that through that visit, she was going to meet her future husband Isaac - just a few days before Kayleigh and Isaac both graduated from the school. Kayleigh walked into that room in Ingersoll, where Avery, Isaac, and Isaac’s friend were chilling. She recalled Isaac not speaking to her much, maybe just saying something along the lines of, “Hi, nice to meet you.” Isaac had his guitar with him, which he used to play the chords for “Revelation Song” when they did an impromptu cover for it during that hangout (definitely a memorable first hangout). After that day, a few months would go by until they saw each other again. They would be reconnected through the natural forming of a friendship group. Every once in a while they would see and speak to each other at events that the friendship group would attend. From 2018 through most of 2020, they stayed in infrequent contact and were interested in/dated other people. During 2020, both Isaac and Kayleigh lost a grandparent (both their last living grandparent). Kayleigh called Isaac to share her condolences and to talk. Kayleigh and Isaac did not see each other one on one nor in a group setting at all that year, as they were also navigating the impacts of the pandemic and were careful in their actions with others, but they did keep in contact every now and again. Around October 2020, Isaac reached out to Kayleigh to check on her (which was not abnormal for Isaac to do with his friends). However, Kayleigh was noticing over time that Isaac was texting her more frequently than he did before. Kayleigh started to feel like Isaac liked her as more than a friend, and despite two of their friends telling her that he might just be being nice to her, she was still a little skeptical. Long story short, after various conversations and Isaac buying Kayleigh New Year and birthday gifts, Kayleigh was way more sure that Isaac liked her. Shortly after, he confessed his feelings on a video call and asked her out on their first date. After their first date, it still took a few months for their relationship to develop (also due to a dating hiatus Kayleigh went on). But not too long after, in which they agreed to and went on a fast to seek God about their relationship, Isaac felt that he needed to ask Kayleigh to be his girlfriend. On July 24th, 2021, Isaac and Kayleigh entered into a committed relationship. Isaac had the goal to ask Kayleigh to be his wife not too long into the relationship if he felt she was the one for him. Their experience as boyfriend and girlfriend gave him the confidence he needed to move forward. On February 17th, 2023, Isaac got down on one knee and asked Kayleigh to be his wife, and now here we are! We hope you enjoyed this story, and thank you for taking part in both Kayleigh’s and Isaac’s lives, to encourage them into being the individuals they are today.
