There many trails on Donner Summit, see below for a few of our favorites! Donner Summit: - Soda Springs General Store - Say hi to our friend Tony and grab a sandwich or some groceries (21784 Donner Pass Rd) - Old 40 Bar and Grill at Donner Ski Ranch - Full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, bar and homemade pie! (19320 Donner Pass Rd) The majority of the other options are in Truckee (15-20 min drive). Here are a few of our favorite spots: Breakfast - Coffeebar Bakery - Amazing pastries! Lake Day
There are a few Lakes nearby that have public beaches/swimming Donner Lake West End Beach (https://www.tdrpd.org/165/West-End-Beach) Or, grab a dock on Donner Pass Road (https://www.tdrpd.org/254/Public-Piers) These both may be crowded mid July. It's beautiful!! Would recommend a AWD car with high clearance to get to the trailhead as it's on a bumpy dirt road How to get to Long Lake?
