Flight
Flying to Boise from the East Coast likely requires a connection. If you prefer a direct flight, feel free to explore flight options to Salt Lake City. It takes a little over 4 hours to drive to Boise but worth considering if you prefer the extra driving over a connection.
Travel Note
Getting around Boise is easy. If you plan to spend time only in Boise for the weekend, then we don't recommend renting a car. Ubers, Lyfts, and taxis are easy to get in Boise and are relatively cheap. There are electirc scooters and bikes to rent as well. Boise is a safe place to walk around. It is not very big; most places are a 5-15 minute drive away. If you plan to venture into the mountains (which are beautiful), then we do reccomend renting a car. A high-clearance, 4-wheel drive vehicle is preferable if you want to go off-road to camp or hike. The mountain highways are windy and narrow, but they are paved. The drive to our planned hike in the Boise foothills on Friday can be done in any vehicle and will take about 10-15 minutes from downtown Boise.
