Why lie - we met on Tinder. From Katie: I was living in Bend, Oregon working as a reporter for a (very small) local TV station. As you can imagine, young professionals such as myself were hard to come by in a small mountain town - so I turned to tech. From Quinton: I had just graduated from Notre Dame and I was at our cabin taking some time with family before I started working in Chicago. My friends told me I should get on Tinder and check it out. I guess I owe them - three matches in, I found the One. And so it began... Although they hadn't actually met face to face, the two quickly hit it off. The conversation went something like this: Q: "whats up" (it was a Friday) K: "at home watching Netflix with my dog" Looking back, not much has changed actually. Anyways, Quinton was set to leave for Italy with his family the next day and go straight to Chicago from there. Quinton wasn't sure when he would be in Oregon next but asked her on a date anyways - just in case he did make it back. Katie honestly never expected to talk to him again. However, Quinton (with probably a little liquid AKA wine courage), kept the conversation up as he walked the streets of Florence and Venice. Katie found out later that he convinced his family he should go back to Oregon one more time before starting his career. The day he touched down, they had their first date. As the time went by, restaurant after brewery after bar closed. The two just weren't done talking so as a last ditch effort, they went on a moonlight hike. They spent nearly every waking moment together for the next two weeks and decided they had something special going. It's been like that ever since.
