Matt, originally from Oklahoma, moved to Texas to attend Texas Christian University in August of 2011. Katie, being from Mississippi, attended Ole Miss and moved to Dallas in August 2016 to start her career. Though our paths never crossed, we were both in attendance and cheering for opposite teams at the Peach Bowl in Atlanta on New Years Eve 2014. Fast forward a few years after the Horned Frog's victory, we met in October 2017, and... the rest is basically history. Our first date was on Halloween 2017 at Victor Tangos, a swanky tapas joint (R.I.P. - it's now gone) in Dallas, followed by a few drinks at The Old Monk. We hit it off quickly and started dating after the TCU loss to Oklahoma at the Big 12 Championship Game on December 2, 2017! I guess Matt needed something to brighten his day (he does not take TCU losses well)... There have been so many memories made since that day - the best of those being with our dog, Tucker, who we got in 2018! In the past few years, we've celebrated many of life's great joys together - new jobs, promotions, dogs, weddings, travel, a new home, but we've also supported each other through some incredibly tough times. We look forward to building our marriage and sharing many more ups and downs together in this crazy life! We are overjoyed to have the support of our friends & family cheering on our marriage and cannot wait to celebrate with you all on August 14, 2021!
