Cody and Katelyn graduated from high school together in 2014, but didn't cross paths much. A soccer player and a theater kid shared all of two classes together. Katelyn remembered that every teacher loved Cody, while Cody remembered that Katelyn wore headbands almost everyday. Flash forward to 2020, Katelyn has ditched the headbands, and the two have matched on the dating app Hinge. Cody opens with the ever so smooth line to the likes of, "Not to be weird, but I think I was your siblings camp counselor over the years", to which Katelyn replies, "Not to be weirder, but I already knew that." Katelyn and Cody's first date is one for books. As if dating during COVID wasn't hard enough, the date ended in them witnessing a literal crime and the bad guy sitting down to eat Katelyn's french fries to hide from police. And the rest is history!

Christmas morning in the Rioux-LaVigne household always starts with cinnamon buns and presents at the crack of dawn, if we haven't already swapped some because we get too excited. But Christmas morning 2022 started super early and Cody had cleared the floor "for the pets to open their stockings". With extra pep in his step, Cody turned on the TV fireplace, passed out all the presents and the cinnamon buns. At the end of presents Cody said "I think you're missing one from your stocking." He brought out a small box and got down on one knee. Katelyn doesn't remember anything he said over all her crying. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
