Maid of Honor
Kate struggles to recall many early memories that don’t involve Natalie; however, their relationship started off rocky with Kate leaving Natalie on a bike ride, in the rain, in a place she had never been. Kate was utterly and completely shocked when Natalie showed up a few minutes later. After the rocky start, the two became close friends and like sisters. Natalie has been Kate’s spend-the-night-camp bunk mate, “niece natalie”, co-collector of passport stamps, partner in crime, brunch buddy, and over all best friend. Kate considers herself lucky to have Natalie in her life, and probably would not leave her on a bike ride again.
Best Man
Stephen needs someone to both ground him and talk outlandish hyperbole for hours. Brett is that man. It all started in recognizing frustration during work; which quickly meant it was healthy for them to work together at 2 more jobs (so far) -- including the crazy decision for both to join SidePrize and go to LA, share a house, and learn something about stale Lucky Charms. The two enjoy Atlanta United games, camping, BMW meets, and more.
Bridesmaid
Kate and Sarah met on the volleyball court in ninth grade. Both were highly skilled athletes, one with a much stronger competitive drive (SKB), but both played on the varsity team all four years. Off the court a friendship blossomed. As adults, Sarah has been Kate’s neighbor, law school juror, and Thursday night/80s night dance partner. Sarah is single-handedly responsible for introducing Kate to any trend, on or offline. Sarah is as loyal a friend as they come, and Kate hopes that everyone has a Sarah in their life.
Groomsman
Stephen and Amrit first competed with one another at the Fulton County Technology Fair. Through a small world they re-met in their 2nd year at Georgia Tech, taking some computer science classes together, but really being all about being very visible around campus and Atlanta and the friend group that went with it. A particularly memorable experience was in 2009, after graduating, the two helped film Amrit's legendary GroupOn challenge.
Bridesmaid
Kate had no idea her life would change when she accepted an invitation to Sarah’s birthday party in sixth grade. Kate met a kindred spirit that day. Sarah has been including Kate in her life since that day. In High School, Sarah and Kate participated in volleyball and choir together. Sarah often got Kate in trouble because Kate does not know how to whisper. Both had their dreams of being Kanakuk counselors dashed in college. As adults Sarah and Kate continue to be great friends, hanging out often, trying new restaurants, sharing Instagram posts, and texting frequently with Sarah Boltz and Laura. Sarah and Kate share a passion for period piece dramas, audio books, fancy dinners, and watching TV outside.
Groomsman
Austin and Stephen share a passion for the water (namely slalom skiing). They helped each other lead the GT Waterski Club, recruiting students to join us in tournaments around the South East. Austin taught Stephen how to trick ski while also helping him through some tricky situations. Very few people know what it takes to convince the other to hurl themselves 50' through the air at 30mph and laugh about it, these two do.
Bridesmaid
Laura and Kate met in high school and were part of a wonderful, and mostly positive group of girlfriends, including Sarah Boltz and Sarah Giovino (it was high school so mostly positive is quite good). Laura was Kate’s seat mate on the senior trip, while Kate can't say for sure, she is positive she talked Laura’s ear off. Laura has continued to be a listening ear for Kate, often offering a thoughtful response, or a new perspective for Kate to consider. Laura’s dance moves cannot be matched, and if you see her stretching or lunging on the side of the dance floor, get ready to be wowed!
Groomsman
Stephen and Nedko met over regular Tuesday conversations at Moes and Joes to later become Scuba Diving buddies in 2011. They both have a very "do it yourself" and "find a way" attitude and enjoy sharing fun stories. There's not much more bonding than a last minute trip (we're talking about tickets purchased 1.5 hours out and holding the door to the plane) to Mexico to go scuba diving.
Bridesmaid
Anne and Kate met while in law school and became immediate friends. Kate was drawn to Anne’s quick wit and obvious intelligence. When Anne started dating another law school classmate, Cliff, a tight knit group of friends formed. The group helped one another through law school, bar studies, and beyond. After law school, Anne and Kate's friendship continues to grow. They enjoy an outdoor concert, an Anthony Bourdain marathon, going to the pool, playing tennis, and curating the perfect playlist and cocktail, or mocktail, for any occasion. Anne's smile lights up a room and her sense of humor have all sorts of people gravitating towards her.
Groomsman
Tom and Stephen were surprise house-mates Stephen's senior year at Georgia Tech. They had BB gun accuracy challenges, the grass hopper containment crisis, fun nights where they may have saved each other more than once, to recovering the next day.
Bestest Good Girl
Bozeman came into Kate and Stephen’s life like a wrecking ball, but a floppy, furry, muppet like wrecking ball. In August 2020, they lost their OG pupper, Tiger Lily, while they knew she could not be replaced, there was a poodle-mix sized hole in their hearts. Enter Bozeman. Kate and Stephen like to think that Bozeman has prepared them for marriage, but heck, what do they know!
Man's Best Friend
Sadie has been Stephen's canine companion for the last 5 years. Her need to be heard, frequent potty breaks, and occasional nervous energy helped prepare Stephen for his relationship with Kate. In the early stages of dating, Sadie ensured that Kate knew where her spot on the sofa was and that she always felt welcome with enthusiastic greetings. Sadie has also joined Kate and Stephen on many adventures, through Piedmont Park, to Panera Coffee, hiking and camping. But not swimming.or paddle boarding, she isn't the biggest fan of water.
Officiant
Peter is Kate’s brother. While he is an ordained minister, that is not what makes him immediately qualified to wed us. Peter has a unique perspective of knowing Kate her whole life, but he has also had a front row seat to this relationship. Peter and Stephen share a love for comic book hero movies and deep thinkin. And all share a passion for dark and dry humor. Peter has a big heart and an un-Hausmann like ability to just listen. We are so excited that he has agreed to officiate our big day.
