We are absolutely THRILLED to be getting married at our dream venue in British Columbia! The views from this place are absolutely jaw dropping and in order to get those views you've got to travel up, up, UP! The Sea to Sky Gondola seats 8 per cabin and takes about 10 minutes to travel 885 meters above Howe Sound. It has a flat entrance and exit, and is fully accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. Once at the top, there are plenty of decks, paths, and viewpoints to enjoy. Our ceremony will take place at the Spirit Viewing Platform, a short walk from the main lodge either through the woods or over the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge. The bridge is about 100 meters long, and is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. Your presence at our wedding is the best gift we could ask for! We know most of you will be traveling to be with us, so please don't feel obligated to purchase us a gift. Furthermore, since we will be traveling back to England, we request that guests do not bring gifts to our wedding. If you would like to bring something on the day, we LOVE cards, and we will be able to fit those in a suit case! ;) We do have a small registry on this website for items to be sent to our England address. We also have a honeymoon/travel fund, where we will gratefully accept monetary gifts, with enormous thanks!
We have arranged a shuttle to bring guests to our ceremony and reception venue from downtown Squamish. The shuttle will leave downtown at 2:30pm, in order for guests to arrive at the Gondola by 3:00pm. Our wedding ceremony will start at 4:00pm, so you will have plenty of time to explore and enjoy this GORGEOUS venue! If you are driving yourself, please keep in mind that you will have to wait in the line to board the Gondola, so plan on being there no later than 3:00pm.
Dean likes to call it "Mountain Smart".... We realize that we are getting married on the top of a mountain, so please wear something you will be comfortable in, but we also hope you'll enjoy an opportunity to dress celebratory for our special day! The paths around the gondola are flat, but not paved. Friends: break out your favorite flats or a sensible heel, stilettos definitely not recommended. Hopefully it will be a beautiful fall day, so we will be able to enjoy the sun during the afternoon. It will most likely get chilly in the evening, so bring something to keep you warm. We recommend you check the forecast and be prepared for any Pacific NW weather, it's always an adventure up here!
