If you have any questions other than what we've listed here, please reach out to Kara at 603-475-4092.
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by December 31, 2024. This will give us enough time to plan out accommodations and transportation for all guests.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

For the wedding ceremony and reception, we invite you to wear either Western or Indian formal attire. We will provide an opportunity on Wednesday, February 12th for those who would like assistance shopping for traditional Indian clothing in Mysore. Please reach out to Kara at 603-475-4092 if you'd like assistance with shopping. Otherwise, your beautiful western clothing is welcomed and common as well! A traditional suit and tie or colorful, mid- to floor-length dress would be perfect. For all other events, more casual cocktail attire is welcomed (think shirts and slacks, cocktail dresses, skirts, jumpsuits, or dressy pants).

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Guests should plan to spend most of the time in Mysore for the wedding activities. We will arrange accommodations for guests at either the Grand Mercure Mysore or the Radisson Blu - more information to come. You are also welcome to book your own accommodations through Airbnb or VRBO if you prefer.

Question

Are you accepting gifts? Where are you registered?

Answer

Your presence is our present - seriously. We understand the commitment to travel to India, both with time and money, is significant. We greatly appreciate your willingness to join us on our special day and that is all we could ask for! For those who would love to attend but are unable to, we totally understand and still would love to celebrate with you in person at some point in the future - reach out to us so we can figure out when and how we can see you :)

Question

Should I rent a car while there?

Answer

In India, drivers drive on the left side of the road and most cars are manual. Not to mention, the larger cities we'll be in (Bangalore and Mysore) are densely populated and experience high traffic. We HIGHLY recommend you don't drive while there. We will arrange your transportation to and from all of the major events that weekend. Uber also operates well in India, and can get you pretty much everywhere you'll need to go.

Question

Will my phone work while I'm there? How should I get in contact with you?

Answer

You can arrange for international service with your individual cell phone carrier, which might be the easiest option depending on how long you're traveling for. However, you also have the option to buy an eSIM or a physical SIM card in India and use a new phone number during the trip. Whichever option you choose, we recommend you let us know and send us the phone number you'll be using during the trip. We will plan to create a WhatsApp group for our guests to keep in touch throughout the trip. For eSIM options, try Airtel: https://www.airtel.in/esim or Jio: https://www.jio.com/jcms/esim/

Question

Can I bring a friend?

Answer

We understand that travel costs can typically become cheaper when traveling with others. If you'd like to bring someone additional to our wedding - the more the merrier! Please just let us know. We may not be able to guarantee travel accommodations and lodging for additional guests, but they are more than welcome to join the wedding festivities if you are traveling together.

Question

What should I do while there?

Answer

Please see the "Things to Do" page for our recommendations, and reach out to us with any specific questions.

Question

What kind of food will there be? What if I have a food allergy?

Answer

There will be food provided at the wedding ceremony and reception. All food will be traditional vegetarian Indian dishes, made in the South Indian style. There will be options of varying spice levels, and we will ensure there's food to accommodate those who prefer milder spice levels. In addition, if you choose to stay at the hotels we recommend, there will be food options that should accommodate all needs. We will plan to accommodate guests with gluten and dairy allergies. If you have any other food allergies that we should know about, please let us know. Finally, we understand folks may have concerns about eating and drinking while traveling to India. All the food we provide at our events will be safe for you to eat. However, when traveling outside of our wedding events, we recommend you drink only bottled water, and try to avoid uncooked foods or foods washed/containing water from an unknown source. For other dietary restrictions specific to your needs, we recommend you speak to your doctor, or consult a travel clinic for their guidance.

Question

Do I need a Visa to travel? What else do I need to know about traveling to India?

Answer

All foreign nationals require a visa to enter India. Apply for an e-Visa online at least 4-7 days before travel: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/. In addition, ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned stay. Finally, check with your doctor about recommended vaccinations before traveling to India, as it will be personalized to your needs.

Question

What's the weather like in Mysore in February?

Answer

The average temperature in Mysore in February for a typical day ranges from a high of 92°F (34°C) to a low of 62°F (17°C). There will likely be no rainfall at this time of year. Plan for mostly hot/warm weather, but bring a sweater or shawl for indoor event spaces that may be air conditioned.
