Matron of Honor
Marla is originally from Camden, Alabama. Surprisingly, Marla met Kara long before they would develop an inseparable bond. Kara and Marla were both high school basketball scorekeepers for rivalry teams. They would normally just wave, slight smile, and keep it moving. Little did they know that years later they would reconnect at Auburn University becoming sorority sisters of the illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Marla and Kara have had many road-trips with great singing, have eaten at countless restaurants, and have enjoyed top notch concerts! When they are together, it’s always a great time full of fun, laughter, and of course food!
Best Man
I’m very happy being the best man for the wedding. Being the best man comes with a lot of responsibilities such as keeping the ring and taking care of the bride and groom. This wedding is special because it’s my dad and he loves me and helps me when I need it. I’m looking forward to the happiness that this wedding brings our family and I am excited to have Ms. Kara be a part of the family.
Maid of Honor
Hi! I’m Telisa Jemison, the bride’s best friend. We met in our college honours dorm as the only two black girls living there. We would later become linesisters in the only sorority a girl should ever consider, Delta Sigma Theta sorority, Inc. We became two peas in a pods, Frick and Frack. She has one of the biggest hearts I know and I’m overjoyed to see her find her forever partner in Kalu.
Groomsman
Kalu is my youngest brother so I have known him since birth. Growing up with this man being the oldest was very difficult because he would always get me in trouble. I was always the INNOCENT one in any altercation. However, out of frustration, I did things I was not proud of to seek revenge. I soaked his GI Joe toys in orange juice, cut up his favorite Power Ranger pillow, and threw a turkey neck bone which he threw at me first, however my throw led to his lip bleeding profusely. There are many stories like these I can share with you, however, they would never compare to the stories of the fine man he has turned into today. I have to admit I was worried about him growing up, but we thank God for working in his life and turning him into the man you see now, Kara. LOVE YOU, LITTLE BROTHER!!!
Bridesmaid
My name is Ibukun Kalu, future sister-in-law of the lovely bride, Kara. During a summer visit to Atlanta I met Kara through her groom and I've gotten to know her over the past year. I'm thankful for the caring spirit, creativity, entrepreneurship and love that she effortlessly shows. I'm excited to welcome her to the family and I'm looking forward to the celebrations.

I’ve known Kalu all of his life. Growing up he played the little brother role extremely well. I’ll never forget the Christmas Day when we got a boom box as a shared gift and somehow Kalu managed to break the thing within the same day. Over the years, I’ve watched Kalu grow into a mature and responsible little brother. I'm proud to see the man he is becoming and happy to welcome Kara to the family.

Hi! I am Amanda Jackson from Anchorage, Alaska. I enjoy attending concerts, traveling, and sports. I met Kinko on the first day of pharmacy school at Auburn University. War Eagle! Since then, she keeps trying to kidnap my father.

I was born in Miami, Florida but spent most of my life in Atlanta, Georgia. I met Kalu pharmacy school and became pledge Brothers in Kappa Psi and created a bond that has continued to this day. We share many similarities including Nigerian culture, love for sports and athletics, and prior to Kalu’s engagement, a natural tendency to get “into trouble". We also spent a great deal of time together, traveling, studying, and mentoring each other. Although life has not allowed us to spend the same amount of time we did previously, we continue to maintain the same level of friendship and show up for each other’s most prized life moments including the upcoming union of Kalu and Kara in marriage.
Bridesmaid
Hello, everyone! I am Camille White, Kara’s first cousin. I will be serving as a bridesmaid. I currently reside in Demopolis, Alabama. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, swimming, & planning activities with friends. I am excited to share in Kara and Kalu’s nuptials.

Brother from another Mother... That pretty much defines our relationship. Kalu and I first met via our pharmacy school fraternity, Kappa Psi, and our first interactions were not quite as friendly. But, if you would see Kalu and I together in person now, you know our bromance runs deep. Over the years Kalu and I have been through a lot personally and professionally, and I'd not want anyone else by my side! Cheers to the new beginning Brother!

I’m originally from Birmingham, AL and currently live in Lilburn, GA. I enjoy crafting, watching crime shows, traveling anywhere near water, and trying out new restaurants. I met Kara in 2011 when she was on line for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and we both ended up attending the same graduate school program. We’ve had plenty study sessions, dinner dates and road trips and she was a bridesmaid at my wedding! Even after graduating and a few moves, we’ve managed to stay connected over the years.

Abiriba boys! When you add together the same hometown in Nigeria, same profession, same pharmacy Fraternity, and same hairstyle… you get over a decade of friendship. Kalu is one of my most dependable friends, he helped me through the hard days of pharmacy school, and has been there for all of life’s events since. It’s an honor to be one of his groomsmen.

Dr. White and I are sorors and members of the illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. We were introduced in 2017 at The DCH Hospital in Tuscaloosa, AL during morning rounds. At that time I was a Family Medicine intern and she was a pharmacy student at Auburn University. We immediately bonded and became friends. I often visited Birmingham where we frequented the mall and local restaurants for sushi. My most memorable moment with Dr. White was in Denver, CO driving up those dangerous mountains and tubbing down the slopes in the freezing cold! I am happy my sister in Christ is marrying the love of her life! Congratulations Dr. Kalu and Dr. White. Ecclesiastes 4:12.
Groomsman
My earliest memory with Kalu was beating him in games like Golden Eye, Mario Kart, and especially Kung Fu Chaos. Since young boys we spent a lot of our time playing various games in our childhood. Growing up with Kalu was growing up with another brother.
Bridesmaid
My name is Nnenna Kalu and I am the sister of the groom. I met Kara when we went to Top Golf last year. I appreciated the little things that she did to embrace culture such as learning how to make jollof rice for our family. I am happy that my big brother found someone that makes him happy.
Groomsman
I am originally from Danville, Georgia. It's a small town you may miss in the blink of an eye when passing by on I-16. I first met Kalu at Mercer University during their first semester of pharmacy school. Kalu and I did not know each other well until we both chose to join the ranks of THE pharmacy fraternity, Kappa Psi, Inc. What started as an uncomfortable meeting between new Pharmacy students grew into a brotherly bond that served to grow us both personally and professionally into the men we are today. It would not be incorrect to say that neither of us would have been as successful in life had we not become such great friends and Brothers. It is often a raucous affair when we get together including fun, food, and occasionally..... wrestling.
