Our story begins in 2013, our Freshman year at Iowa State University. Each spring the Greek community at Iowa State hosts Greek Week, a friendly weeklong competition in which fraternities and sororities are paired together to face off in numerous events against other houses. One such competition is Lip Sync, where, as you can guess, the teams lip sync and dance in a skit they create. At Lip Sync practice Bobby caught Kali’s eye immediately (possibly for the bad dance moves) and during ice breakers he introduced himself as “Burrito Bobby.” In the weeks that followed Kali kept talking about “that cute burrito guy” until one fateful bus party brought the two together, and the rest is history.

In the Dunteman family, Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of the sacred cabin season. The weekend is spent opening the cabin, getting everything in the water, and quality family time at The Harbor (IYKYK). This year however, Kali and Bobby couldn’t join in the cabin fun and were feeling a bit disappointed. So, Bobby decided to book the two of them, and Odie of course, a cute little cabin in the mountains of Tennessee. After hours of pouring rain the sun finally peeked through the clouds and Bobby suggested they all go on a hike. The hike ended beneath a beautiful waterfall and after some trickery to get Kali’s attention in the other direction Bobby got down on one knee and popped the question. Kali responded with some silence (she had to make him sweat a little after the long wait) and then finally with, “It’s about dang time, YES!!”
