How We met.

Kaitlyn and Lang met at an after work happy hour/bowling event that Lang attended during his first week at his new job. Kaitlyn was impressed with his amazing shuffle boarding and bowling skills that night. Lang had shared that night that he was a single father, and Kaitlyn gullibly believed him thinking they'd never be more than friends with that baby mama drama baggage he claimed to have ( months later she found out that he was joking). They chatted and got to know each other that night and became good friends. As time went by, Lang would walk by Kaitlyns desk to fill up his water bottle and say hi. Eventually, Lang would secretly drop off muffins and snacks to her desk to plant the seed for their future relationship. Kaitlyn enjoyed every thoughtful snack that Lang brought over. They went on dates to Dodger games, movies and dinners and eventually became inseparable but of course they kept it professional at work so no one knew they were dating until they both left the work campus.

The Proposal

On Saturday, January 2nd, Lang had secretly planned to have a picnic on a boat while cruising the harbor with Kaitlyn and a group of their close friends. The secret plan was a success up until hours before they were going to head out. Kaitlyn had discovered the secret stash of fancy desserts and snacks that Lang had hidden in the garage and had figured out his plans and had texted her mom "Today is the day". Eventually Kaitlyn and Lang were able to meet up with their group of friends in Newport Beach to board their boat. As the group was enjoying their time on the waters, Lang noticed that the stars had started to align so he kneeled down to tie his shoes (wink wink) and reached into his back pocket to pull out the elegant and awesome engagement ring that he chose to secure for the love of his life, for life. He then popped the question, and instead of Kaitlyn being in shock from surprise of this special moment, Lang was in physical shock as the icey ocean water that had slashed up onto the boat's deck made contact with his leg and drenched his pants as he kneeled. Prior to him kneeling, the boat's driver was steering the boat past the bay breakers into the open ocean as if they were making a trip to Hawaii and the wavy waters had splashed overboard onto the deck. Kaitlyn said 'YES!' and then proceeded to put her hand out, waiting for Lang to place the perfectly sized and chosen ring on her finger. There was quite the awkward delay before Lang put the ring on her finger as he overcame the shock of the coldness running through his body. Flawless execution from Lang minus the wet surprise factor and COVID...
