Getting to ATHENS, GREECE: In order to arrive in Sifnos in time for Τhursday’s July 28, 2022 ceremony, we recommend flying into Athens (Athens International Airport) at the latest by the 24th or 25th of July, 2022! If you are traveling from outside of Europe your flight will most likely include a layover, which will only take you one step closer to your final wedding destination (Sifnos, Greece). If your flight does not require a layover you can directly fly into Athens, Greece. Upon arrival in Athens, there are two forms of transportation to get to Sifnos. Option number one: Fly into Athens and take a direct ferry from Athens's main port (Piraeus), that takes you directly to Sifnos. Option number two: Take a flight from Athens airport to Milos, a nearby island. Once in Milos, take a ferry to Sifnos. These travels may seem long and far, but an adventure & celebration awaits each and every one of you!

Ferries to Sifnos

Traveling via Athens From Athens, you will be required to take a ferry boat from the Port of Piraeus... Which is Athens's main port (there is no airport on the island). If you decide to take the High-Speed Ferry (Sea Jet) & (Catamaran), it will take approximately 3 hours to arrive. If you decide to travel with a car or motorbike, there are also several ferry options that can accommodate your car or motorbike. These ferries travel at a slower speed, arriving in approximately 6 hours. Ferries should be scheduled a few weeks in advance as we will be approaching the very beginning of the summer high season in Greece. Layover in Europe? For those guests traveling via Europe, there are direct flights to Santorini, Greece. From Santorini (port of Thira), there are high-speed ferries (Sea Jets) to Sifnos. Total travel time is approximately 2.5 - 3 hours. If you are going for this option, please make sure there is a connecting ferry for the day you wish to depart from Santorini! The nearest airport is conveniently located in Milos, connected to Athens daily. From Milos there are several boat routes that connect with Sifnos and the duration of the trip is approximately 40mins. Moreover, there is a daily connection between Sifnos and the nearby islands of Serifos and Milos, while some particular days of the week there is also a connection to various destinations in the Cyclades, such as Folegandros, Santorini, Paros, Naxos, Mykonos, and Syros, as well as to the island of Crete. Choose your adventure!
