We recommend organizing a group for a private traditional cooking lesson on this beautiful organic farm close by Apollonia. The owner is colorful and will offer you his homemade Tsipouro produced from residue of the wine press, when you cook. Narlis uses their own vegetables and locally grown herbs in their traditional Sifnos recipes. They have apricot and pear trees of the vasilika variety, that they claim, do not exist anywhere else in the world anymore!
This church is a must! It is a beautiful short walk from the Kastro, down to the church & it has breath taking views of the Aegean Sea. (The stairs to the church are less formidable than they seem, so make sure you go all the way down to the chapel. There are also steps leading to the water where you can dive into the deep blue sea to cool down.
The churches, are intended to meet the needs of Christian worship, and are a characteristic and inextricable element of the Greek landscape. Their decoration always reflects the Orthodox doctrine, following specific style trends and established iconographic programmes. Over the centuries, important architects, builders or painters have contributed to the construction and decoration of the Greek churches, many of which now are scheduled monuments.Like the churches, monasteries are closely connected with the history and tradition of Greece. By "monastery" we mean the total number of buildings in which monks or, more generally, the members of a religious community live. Monasteries comprise a central church (called the Catholicon), chapels, the monks’ cells, guest houses, the dining room (the refectory), the kitchen, the library, etc. The monastery of Panagia Chrissopigi is on the most famous and most visited spots in Sifnos, since Panagia Chrissopigi is the protector of Sifnos.

The all-white Panagia tou Vounou (Virgin Mary of the Mountain) is located very close to the Apollonia-Platis Gialos main road. It is a temple that was built in 1813 with an all-white dome and a bell tower. The church is dedicated to the Presentation of the Virgin, to the Saints Constantine and Helen, and to Agios (Saint) Nicholas. The view of the small island of Kypriani, the beach of Platis Gialos, as well as of the settlement, can be seen from the forecourt of the temple.

The main beach of Faros has magnificent views of the rock of Chrysopigi, which is directly opposite, and golden fine sand. Glyfo is the third beach of Faros and considered the most beautiful by many, with a small paved path through the settlement that leads to the beach.
The beach of Kamares is the first you meet once you come out of the boat. Kamares beach with golden fine sand that only covers a small part of its extent, shade from tamarisk trees and sufficient number of deck chairs and umbrellas. Apollonia is the capital of Sifnos located in the heart of the island, built amphitheatrically around three hills. The picturesque village consists of narrow stone-paved streets, Cycladic style houses decorated with bright colored flowers and whitewashed arches. A walk in the picturesque town of Apollonia reveals many beautiful churches. *We recommend eating at Kafeneio Drakakis We recommend the following bars: * Daloma Bar - pours out into the street kitty-corner to the restaurant Kafeneio Drakakis. They have a great island made Tsipouro (similar to Raki or Italian Grappa). * Cosi - more upscale, large roof terrace * Mpotzi - Grecian-hip back alley vibe
