Joy and I have been friends since 2017. Our bond deepened during Uncle George’s 25th wedding anniversary celebration when we discovered our shared commitment to praying for our future spouses. I suggested that we become prayer partners to hold each other accountable. We soon realized the power of united prayer, experiencing the truth that the prayers of the righteous availeth MUCH. Our prayer sessions, infused with the energy of the Holy Spirit, expanded to encompass not only our future spouses but also our careers, education, finances, families, and more. Over the years, we've seen many of these prayers answered, and they continue to be answered today. It's been a privilege to walk alongside Joy for the past six years, becoming one of each other's closest confidants. I am thrilled to witness her embark on this new chapter. My prayer is that her union with Sherif serves as a testament to God's faithfulness and serves as a shining example of a Christ-centered relationship. My earliest memories with Joy go all the way back to 2018. We became roommates for two years of pharmacy school and our friendship blossomed. From the endless random videos of us catching each other slippin’, to staying up late and talking for hours, to serving in ministry together, and interceding for another, these are moments I will forever cherish. I have so much JOY knowing that God has completely orchestrated this union. The first day I saw Joy and Sherif interact with each other, I 100000% knew they were meant for each other. Growing up in the same neighborhood (WEEEST! 😂), I always considered Sherif to be my brother. I have fond memories of cracking jokes while walking back home from middle school, shooting hoops at another neighbor's place, and racing up and down the street. Since we were kids, Sherif has always challenged his peers for the better. And what's admirable is that he never asks you to do something he isn't already doing to better his self. He truly loves Christ, and the light of Christ radiates wherever he goes. It warms my heart to see the love he shares with Joy. I met Sherif in the 3rd grade and I couldn’t believe I met someone who was funnier than celebrity comedians and and possibly the most animated person I ever met lol Once I found out Sherif lived in the same neighborhood, we instantly became brothers. We went to every school together from elementary to college (even though he tried to be on his nerd grind and tried to go to Kerr High School for a couple years). Throughout the years, Sherif has been a supportive friend that always knew how to make everyone laugh but also kept everyone accountable. Sherif’s passion for music was infectious and inspired me to be just as passionate in my career. Even now, Sherif’s passion to be more Christ-like and testimony gives me chills and inspires me to be more Christ-like. I pray God blesses Sherif & Joy’s union and I believe God is going to bless them fruitfully (🤰🏾) to bring a Young Reef Jr in this world; I also believe God will use their stories to inspire more singles in the future.
