Accommodations & Travel

We are eternally grateful to our friends and family for joining us in New Orleans for our dream destination. Here are some tips for traveling to the Big Easy!

Travel Note

Airbnb Suggestions

Due to the NCAA Final Four tournament, we actually recommend booking an Airbnb for the wedding weekend (though we do have two hotel blocks, see below). Look for stays in the Garden District near the venue on Magazine St. Please let us know if you need any support in finding a space!

Hotel

Hotel Indigo New Orleans

2203 Saint Charles Avenue
New Orleans, LA 70130
 (504) 522-3650

For those staying 3+ nights, we have a small hotel block at Hotel Indigo nearby for $249/night + taxes/fees (3 night min). Use code PVW for online bookings here: https://bit.ly/3EdxB12, or call 504-522-3650 before March 1, 2022. Guests must identify themselves as members of the Parikh – Velez Wedding April 2022.

Hotel

Holiday Inn New Orleans West Bank Tower, an IHG Hotel

275 Whitney Avenue
Gretna, LA 70053
 (504) 366-8535

A small block of rooms has been reserved just across the water as well, for a more affordable price of $129/night plus taxes + fees. Use code HJW to book by March 2, 2022: https://bit.ly/2ZIVize

Flight

Louis Armstrong International (MSY)

We highly recommend flying into Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY), as it's the closest airport to New Orleans' Garden District. There are typically roundtrip, nonstop flights between $150-$250 from the New Jersey/NYC area.

Rental Car

Do we need a rental car?

Il Mercato, our wedding venue, is located in the Garden District of New Orleans, about 10-15 minutes away from the French Quarter (what people traditionally think of when they hear Bourbon Street). If you are staying in New Orleans proper, the entire city is highly accessible by public transportation, ride-shares like Lyft, or on foot! Parking can also be difficult and limited in the city.

Train

New Orleans Streetcars

For one of our favorite activities/ways to get around, take a ride on a vintage streetcar! These are all over the city on various routes/lines. Standard fare per ride is $1.25 (exact change recommended).
