Josh and Jaclyn met on the first day of freshman year at Ball State University. They lived in the same dorm; Jaclyn on the first floor, Josh on the fourth. They'd meet in the lobby and walk to their Acting class, and made a habit of grabbing lunch afterwards. They acted together frequently in university productions, college theatre competitions, and regional showcases. They spent the summer of their junior year studying in NYC, crashing on a friend's futon, conveniently located in the kitchen. After graduation, their roads diverged; Jaclyn landing in Chicago, Josh in NYC. They kept in touch, and found every reason to visit one another. Josh saw Jaclyn on stage in Chicago. Jaclyn flew to NYC to run a race with Josh. One time they halted their lives to embark upon a backpacking adventure through Europe. They were gone a month before coming home. Most recently their travels have taken them through many national parks: Yosemite, Zion, Grand Teton and the Grand Canyon. In March of 2020, they began to talk every day, working from home; Josh still in NYC, Jaclyn now in Los Angeles. They met in Arizona, intending to stay for one month as they hiked the southwest. One month turned to two when they couldn’t say goodbye, so they set out to explore Wyoming. Two months turned to six after they settled in Salt Lake City for the winter, their lives apart fading further away. Eventually, they made their way back to the city that holds so many of their dearest memories, NYC, which they now call home. Josh proposed to Jaclyn in Central Park, moments after enjoying a beautiful night of music at the symphony.
