'Til Death Do Us Party

Jordyn and Kenny met on Tinder in November of 2020. In the middle of the pandemic and after a slew of horrible dates, they both swiped right for the last time. Their first date was on a Friday the 13th, but it turned out to be the luckiest day of their lives (so cheesy, right?). They met at AZ Wilderness and nervously ate nearly half the menu while talking about anything and everything. They ended up being the last ones in the restaurant. The next day, Kenny took Jordyn to Wild Horse Pass where he raced the beloved Pontiac (and won both races). They have basically been inseparable ever since. While Kenny had plans to propose on the beach in California, Jordyn had other ideas. She was recovering from a surgery and, due to a post-op infection, was told she couldn't leave the state. Secretly knowing the proposal plan and seeing how devastated Kenny was, she suggested taking a day trip to Payson. After driving back and forth on the SR-87 looking for a decent place to pull off and walk around, they finally found a nice trailhead. After what seemed like hours of awkward conversation and nervous laughter, and Jordyn not-so-casually dropping hints all day, Kenny FINALLY got down on one knee (a real feat for him) and proposed. It was just the two of them, in the forest, and it was perfect. They have been with each other through the completion of schooling, numerous job changes, housing changes, surgeries, deaths in the family, and even births in the family (their favorite nephews, Xander and Jameson). Kenny has reluctantly accepted the role of dog-dad to Jordyn's beloved dogs, Potter and Winnie, while Jordyn has slowly come to terms with the fact that 99% of the time, Kenny is thinking about cars. They cannot wait to celebrate their love with all of their favorite people. 10.13.2023 cannot come soon enough!
