Our story is a simple one. We went to high school together, but were a grade apart. We had mutual friends so we knew of each other and even had classes together. Zach use to bring me food in our AP psychology class. When I (Jordin) graduated high school and went on to WVU, there was about a one year gap in our friendship. Here’s where all of you believers in fate come in...During spring break, I went back to Capital High School to visit a friend and catch up. When I was getting ready to leave, this bearded familiar face with a red flannel shirt walks in and the rest is history.

When Zach asked me to be his girlfriend, I thought it were some kind of joke. Not realizing the date, he was clueless. It was April 1st, 2013. He asked me if I wanted him to retract and ask again tomorrow, but we both knew that April Fools Day was just too perfect.

A lot of you have wanted to know this story and all the juicy details! I’ll start with the ring. The vintage blue sapphire originally belonged to my nana, which was a gift from my great grandmother. Nana never wore it and thought to pass it along to me (thanks nana!). The ring was too small for my finger, so of course I couldn’t wait to get it sized. When Zach and I went to pick up my ring, I didn’t expect that I was going to say “yes” to forever later that night. We spent the day out and about, then ventured home. Zach and I enjoy the simple things in life, which made our intimate, personal, yet vulnerable engagment, absolutely perfect. Yes, he proposed to me in the comfort of our own home, and honestly I wouldn’t have had it any other way. The words spoken will always be held near and dear to me, so I think I will forever keep those between us and Bella. Where was she during all of this you’re wondering? No more than inches away from her dad at all times and was livid when he decided to get up to pop the question.
