We’re getting married!

Joey’s high school friend, Peyton, wanted to introduce him to her new roommate, which wound up being Nikki. Nikki struggled with directions on the new campus, so Joey volunteered to walk her to the pharmacy one morning. Joey says that that was when he knew he wanted to be with her, and Nikki felt the same way.

Joey had a beautiful, chunky corgi named Hailey. Nikki loves dogs, so Joey had his mom bring Hailey to campus so they could walk her around. Hailey did not enjoy long walks, so she would walk for a bit and collapse in exhaustion. UT’s campus has a large rock on campus that students spray paint, and Hailey wanted to rest near this rock. They sat with her, gave her lots of love, and got to know each other better.

Nikki travels to Toledo to visit Joey as frequently as possible, and on several trips they have walked around campus for fun. On this particular trip, Nikki had asked Joey if they could do a “fancy” date where they dressed up and made reservations. Nikki also loves getting photos of them together, as she loves looking through them when she’s missing Joey. Joey suggested that they walk around campus and get some photos there before dinner. They walked by the big rock on campus (see our first date) and went to see who had spray painted it most recently. He got down on one knee at the spot of their first date. Little did Nikki know, they had walked past a friend of Joey’s that she had never met, and he took photos the whole time. A huge thank you to AJ!
